I don’t know why but I’ve never really had a go with zigs at night. Hardly ever use them during the day as well to be honest.
But there’s just something about using a piece of plain foam during the night, I can’t get my head around how people catch fish on this method. No attraction or flavour.
Carp must have a lot better eyesight than I give them credit for.
I’m Interested to hear people’s stories about catching on zigs in the dark hours.
Does a full moon for example make a difference to catch rates.
And do you find you foul hook many fish using this method?
Cheers.

Great question. I'm in the same boat as you. I would also like to hear views on fishing with adjustable zigs.

Me too!
I am also super interested…I have got as far as sorting out a few zig bits and bobs that fit nicely in a rucksack pocket….and I still haven’t used them. I even got all creative trying to make “Bugs life” type zigs….which I thoroughly enjoyed doing, to be fair!
I just need to find the confidence to use ‘em!

20 odd years ago I had 3 20's in 30mins fishing 20mm Big Fix Mix pop ups, think they were at 13' in 16' of water.
I've had modern zig stuff in my tackle box since they 1st came out...how long...never used them.
Earlier this year I bought 2 ziggos and 2 weeks ago actually cast one in anger.
I've no doubt they'll work on the water I fish but I catch enough in the margins so zigs are really a afterthought.
One thing I thought straight away when using it, I'd prefer a bigger bait and a natural one v foam. I'll be using DNA Stick material as the bait, just like I do when floater fishing.
Note to self, must give it a fair go next year 🤔

I can see the merit, of perhaps using a corkball off the lead flossed with worms or maggots. Should really give that a go.
It’s just the plain foam at night that does me in.😂
I suppose trout take artificial flies quite readily. But put a maggot or worm on and they are pretty friendly fish.
Can see me going down a rabbit hole with this.
I think a lot of us buy the zig aligner kits and just leave them in their bag unused, I certainly have.
