Whatever you use at every other time of year. All this "winter/summer" baits is a load of twaddle imo

Any decent boilie made nowadays is far more digestible, lower in protein and fats than baits of yester-year.
Pick one with a good track record and just use less of it in the colder months.

Another fan of the DNA Bug.

I enjoyed using creamino last winter, DNA switch the winter before was pretty decent too but creamino probably just edged it

Or proper carp baits strawberry jam sub zero

Decades ago I would have used a dedicated milk birdfood base but these days I just fish DNA S7 all year round...as always with another boilie jic.

I'm not saying I wouldn't fish a MBF btw.

My home made mix has performed for many winters now.
4 ingredients with garlic and fenugreek.
No need for flavours, hydros, coatings or any other fashionable additions.

I'd use something like this -

40% Semolina
30% Birdfood
20% Maize Meal
10% Milk Powder

I've definitely used baits in the summer that just won't get me a bite in the winter. The baits that I have faith in for the winter would almost certainly work in the summer as well, although maybe maybe not as well as my summer baits.
The best readily available winter bait? I reckon a Richworth Tutti would take some beating, assuming they're still the same?

For me its either magnum baits winter wonder or essential baits salami cream both superb baits

My simple guess

40% LT94
20% CLO ( IMHO some are much better at binding, and finer in texture for rolling than others )
20% SEMO
20% VITAMEALO

Very very true! If you can get a consistent size great, otherwise blend your own however you like it from a coarser mix.
