I'm after some wet weather gear, jacket and trousers.

Everyone I know who has this gear rates it very highly. Even a friend who owns a tackle shop told me it kept him dry for the whole day float fishing in persistent rain. I'll get these myself once my size comes back in stock.

Only ever heard good things about the Fortis wet weather gear. Marine jacket and trousers I think there called. Pricey, but like a lot of things you get what you pay for..

I have the marine coat, bought on another forum members recommendation, probably the best there is, extremely waterproof.

Personally, if I want decent clothes for outdoors etc I go to a company that specializes in outdoor clothes, not a tackle company trying more ways to make you part with your money.

Cant comment on the jacket, but have the trousers and would highly recommend, use them not only for fishing but taking the dog out in the pouring rain and still come back bone dry! They are pricey but these days you get what you pay for

I'm 32-34 waist and have medium, still use the belt to tighten up, but not by much!

Bought both Jacket & Trousers as spares and they've now been promoted primarily due to weight and comfort. The trousers especially are really comfortable and the integrated belt is so much better than ties / having to use an aftermarket belt. The trousers also do have some stretch and they are so light you don't know you're wearing them . . .
The jacket is similarly light which is great but does have 'some' faults . . .its got a long parka tail but no adjustable hem which is vaguely annoying . . .it also doesn't have a hanging loop so you have to hang off the hood clasp. Jacket is also 'slightly' fitted so size up if you want to put a decent puffa on underneath in winter etc . . .

I went in my local tackle shop and tried on both the fortis and the Korda jackets today, they both look brilliant, the Korda is definitely a lot more “fitted” though, I would definitely go a size up with it. I was going to get the fortis but after seeing the Korda and how similar they are I may well go for that!

Thats what happened with me,I could not justify the extra cost.I had the coat in black and use it whilst out and about.Im going to get another for fishing,it's so light I can't tell I'm wearing it.Last week in Devon it rained heavily for well over an hour,I was bone dry.When we got back to our apartment my wife took off her northface coat and her jumper was wet from sweating.The breathability of the Korda coat is brilliant and a couple of shakes and it's bone dry,the water just beads off it

Did you go a size up mate? I'm usually a medium, I tried one on over a polo shirt and didn't seem like there was much room for a hoody too. Think I will go for a large, they didn't have a large in the shop for me to try on unfortunately.

I didn't no but I will be when I get another one.I can get a hoodie on under it but if I wanted to put more layers on for fishing then I will definitely go up a size

I tried the Fortis stuff on for amusement value but there is no way they're worth the price point . . .the Korda stuff is light and very well made and the even comfy next to skin without feeling overly 'tacky' . . .

. . .I don't think so - I'm 6'1" 15 Stone and XL and can fit craghopper kiwis underneath no probs . . .material is stretchy so moves with you rather than against . . .Jacket on the other hand (for me) is a little more fitted - can get a fleece / gilet / thin synthetic puffa underneath but would struggle with a full puffa . . .need to get rid of beer gut!

Thanks for all the input and information. I went and brought it and I think it's excellent. Was out in torrential rain and my clothes bone dry underneath.
Can anyone advise me on the sizes for the trousers I need them to fit a 40” waist? Any help would be great

I rarely buy carp taxed clothing for fishing, and there are manufacturers of better equipment in the shooting, hunting or hiking market.
If you want decent clothing look at companies like Hoggs of Fife😉

If he or anyone else wants to give any tackle company their money for something they have no experience in making and charging the same as some top end outdoor clothing thats up to them, no skin off my nose.

Tend to agree. 15k waterproof is not bad but at the price I would personally spend a bit more and be looking at gortex or a similar material. Ideally 3 layer. Higher waterproof rating as well as being tried and tested.

My Arcteryx Zeta AR jacket sh*ts all over any Fortis / Korda / Wofte kit all day long . . .3 Layer N70p Goretex with a CKnit backer . .you can wear it with a t-shirt and not feel clammy in 18 degree summer rain . . .water just bounces off it . . .my Beta AR pants in N80d Goretex Pro are even more invincible . . !
However would I wear either fishing for those infrequent downpours and when I'm under a twin skin bivvy for most of it staring out at a lake . . .let alone get them covered in mud/fish slime/salmon oil and boilie crumb . . .NO
The Korda kit is a good compromise IMO - light, comfortable, stretchy and with good water resistance . . .don't knock it till you've tried it!

The zip has broken on my my mk1 Dry Kore jacket, it got stuck then suddenly unstuck and the end flew off, great!!

Not sure whether Korda zips are 'standard' or specific to their kit . . .a local seamstress should be able to sort but if its a special item then refitting the entire zip mech may be cost prohibitive? Def contact Korda Customer Services first and they will most likely send you a spare for nish . . .
