Looking at getting some new rods. I’m wanting something with a little more power than the 3.25 torrix for a little more distance and for fishing with solid bags. I don’t want a broom handle, but obviously needs to be powerful enough to fish with solid bags over 100 yards. Any recommendations ? Been looking at 12ft torrix te’s, but get mixed reviews of being too stiff, my mate has 3.5 torrix which are more powerful than the te ans he loves them.

Given you're not that far away from them why not give Tony Kay a call or Kev Clayton, see what they say. You could even pop into Harrisons, they're also very good to deal with 👍

I have a set of 3.25 torrix and a set of TE's and TBH I think I prefer the TE, yes it has more casting ability but the tip is very forgiving in close.
As said maybe try and have a look in the flesh.
Plenty of TE's on e-bay and if you don't like just resell for the same money, I don't think they will drop much further.

Fishing solid bags at 100yds (wrapped, not estimated) is no easy thing.
Are you using a shockie, braid straight through, or just mono. Small bags with 0.35, or proper bags with 0.40, all makes a massive difference.
The torrix te is a lovely rod, but not that different to your current rods and may lack the grunt if its mono only and no shockies!
If you were to step up to aviator 3.5lb 13ft then you will feel a bigger difference, still a nice tip but some proper beef from top 1/3 down.
I also have the 12ft torrix 3.5lb and its a beefy rod.

Just mono. I use 0.38. It’s weedy so need decent line on. There is a braid ban on the lake I fish. I use a 3oz lead in the bags so around 4.5 ounces when tied up. I just want a little extra power I feel like I’m topping the 3.25 out around 95/100 yards. I’d like another 10/15 yards But I don’t want a proper poker either maybe I want something that doesn’t exist 🤣 I think I’m going to go with the te. If no better then go down the 12.6/13ft aviator route.

If you're sticking with Harrison the standard 12' Aviator Plus is supposedly the natural step up from the 3.25 Torrix at 3lb 6oz (2oz increase in TC) however IMO at 12' its a marmite rod especially for casting mortals . . . for more consistent whacks / solid bags def go for the 13' Aviator Plus (3.5 tc) or even the 13' Plus 2 (3.75) for more grunt . . .the standard 13' still has a nice tip to play fish on etc and is a better all rounder . . .for bags at that range I need a tapered mono to get anywhere near . . .

If you are not using a shock leader i cannot see any point upgrading. 0.38mm mono could easily be parted with a proper cast. Looking at the weight you are using and the bag i reckon you are doing more of a lob than a cast. I reckon if you were to give it more you could easily crack off and in such cases you then need a shock leader. If you are convinced you want a different rod, again, without shock leaders, i would look for something like a 3.5 test with more of a through action, the Torrix are very tippy in my experience, i had two sets and did not like them, to me they felt unbalanced. Powerful butt section and a soft tip action.

I could go onto a tapered mono if I wanted to. It’s only braid and braided shock leaders that are banned. As I was saying I think I’m pushing the rod to the limit so want abit more power. But then I’d probably use a tapered mono. I haven’t done much real distance fishing over say 110 yards. Most of the lakes I’ve fished have been 90 yards maximum that’s why I’ve never needed bigger rods.

I have a set of 3.5 torrix that i use for solid bag work. Use with 12 to 30lb tapered mono can hit 30 wraps in all weather with the same bag setup you are using. Ive also a set of 13ft aviator plus that I can hit 35 wraps with the same tapered mainline. The 3.5 torrix are a different rod entirely to the 3 25. Out of the 12ft torrix and the 13 aviators I prefer the 12fts

Similar to me but I had some 12 foot TE,s brilliant for bag work

0.38 mono straight through is no good for distance with with bags. You are lobbing, not casting otherwise you would be cracking off all the time. You need to try the tapered leader first, the torrix have some serious power in the butt, if anything I would say the tip is too soft to get the range you want. High quality carbon rods are built to take it, try the leader first and watch some casting videos, if you believe the rod is not enough, I would then look at an upgrade.

That's a very good starting point 🤓
Go on a water that will allow the shockleader and put some more power into your rod now that a crack off isnt an issue. That will tell you if the rod has the necessary backbone.
You could then try tapered mainline.
