Hi all could you help me I had some Harrison aviator plus Rods made and I've used them about 10 times but ever since I had them there is a difference on how far they push on at spigot where they join together. I would say maybe a inch difference. I presumed this is because they were brand new and they would go on more over time. I know I should of took them back to him to be sorted but the last year or so has been tough (not going to go into that) but it's kept me from fishing over this period. I've just popped in to say is there anything I could do to sort it myself so it pushes on further without getting it stuck on there permanently lol Tia Rich.

Can you not swap the tips from one rod to the next, until you come up with the closest match?
Mark up the tip and butt sections with masking tape and sharpie 1,2,3,4 etc, so you can always get the original sections back together in case it’s not going to work.

I've just been thinking that I don't know how much it matters but I've always kept them the same as they come as they have a little painted 1. On the but section and a 1. On the tip section. Same for 2 and 3. I have messaged the builder who said to bring them to see him. But I'll try this suggestion if it works it saves me a hour trip 👍

I had this exact same issue with my custom rods when i first got them years ago -spigot kept twisting on the cast.
Messaged rob builder and he said the exact same - swap them about as i had mixed them up when i collected. Worked fine ever since.

There is a carbon spray from Maver that is used to build up worn pole sections, could try that to build up the shorter one?
Old school way of the same thing used to be candle wax or a lead pencil
If the sections are numbered I wouldn't want to swap sections around personally, I've always thought they were built together and should stay together

…as long as the rod builder didn’t accidentally jumble the sections up before he marked them! Would like to think any reputable rod builder wouldn’t fall foul of that schoolboy error though tbh.
