A friend of mines son aged 14 is a just getting into it and although I'm taking him out here and there I thought some vids off you tube might help. Any suggestions?

fish with carl are probably some of the best videos on you tube, he does some instructional stuff and some good campaigns and trips to inspire younger people and the wider audience
im not sure if the early stuff is still on there which was carl and alex go fishing, this was him and his brother from a very young age,probably younger than 14 and then his brother left the channel wanting to pursue different interests.

100% agree with this. My oldest is 14 and has watched all of Carl's videos. It's helped him a lot. The relatability also helps.

It’s a shame Go fishing is such poor quality on YouTube, I don’t think kids these days would tolerate the grainy video and awful sound. This program got a whole generation fishing for all species.
Carl and Alex seem a perfect place to start for a teenager. Certainly over some fiddly rig nonsense, the last thing a kid needs to believe is that a rig is the be and end all.

I guess it depends on the teenager, is he the sort to watch slower paced stuff?
Though I'm a follower of Matthew Collins and enjoy his videos I'm not sure the pace would keep most children 'entertained', bit like Passion For Angling etc, even maybe including Sir Terry.
Fishing with Carl and the earlier with Alex is a good shout, maybe some of the Korda Thinking Tackle, Fox Challenge maybe, as it throws Qs without being preachy, makes you think, maybe early Monster Carp.
I'm not in touch with newer channels, Nothing But Fishing maybe, If general fishing maybe dated but John Wilson for keeping it simple, Matty Hayes (DVD box sets very cheap, though not what your asking)
