Hi All, had some of these in the garage for some time, considering using them this season - what are their limitations? Good for big leads + PVA bags, if so how big?

given mine a pasting since I got them back in 2020. have fished heavy weed with braid, and fairly long ranges too, given the spec of the rod (30 wraps with mono, close to that with the TA sinking braid too) will take a 4oz lead easily if needed up to those distances.

can't fault them.

I love my mk3 12' 3.25s. Playing fish on them is an absolute joy.

They are players rods, they weren’t designed for banging leads to the horizon, the action is very soft for a 3.25tc. I had the mk2 3.25’s and still have some mk3 3.25’s in 12ft and the 12.6 are even softer than the 12’s. I thought they felt uncomfortable with even 3.5oz leads due to the bouncy tips, I can’t imagine casting big PVA bags on them.

Ironically the distance versions were horrible and heavy, about the worst rod I’ve know esp make.

Interesting as I had the mk1 and now have the mk2's. Lovely light rods, albeit i have the 12ft versions. I had a play around with the mk3 rods, felt very heavy, especially in the tip section, so dismissed them straight away
