I'm after opinions on the pair of these, ideally by someone who has owned both.
The price point leans towards Icytek being better quality, but you get more product for your money with Ridgemonkey, which is a surprise as carp tax would ordinarily make it more expensive than Icytek, but not on this occasion.
Just for some reference, the Ridgemonkey 20l one is £59.99, and the 18l Icytek one is £110!

Icytex will keep ice frozen 6-8 days, ridge monkey keep cool (whatever that means) 48 hours.

I wouldnt even think about comparing them,one made their brand selling rebadged toastie makes the others are one of the best at what they do

+1 on this - absolute night & day, similar to portable power or solar - best to buy from the brands where this is their absolute day to day, not just another 1 of 1000 different product categories

Whilst nicely designed, for keeping anything vaguely cold for more than 12hrs the Ridgemonkey one is . . . . . . . . .terrible
Speero on the other hand is excellent - not all Carp Taxed products are cr*p . . .also take a look at the new Cotswold Aquarius one - they are talking a good game!

Just to throw another into the mix, Igloo make decent coolboxes and are priced mid way between RM & Icytek

I have in excess of 10 ccol bags ranging from titan ones from costco (which I tyink are great value for money) the ridge monkey kooler doesnt even come close, i also have igloo, yeti and even anker solix battery fridges that are near £800 and my pals have icey tek
you cat really compare fishing stuff to high end camp gear in my opinion that is until youve seen the new ccotswold bag theyce released - look at there socials and there is video evidence of it out performing all others and even a yeti which is twice the price so its hard to argue with that for the price point

How long do you need to keep stuff cold for, the most important Q.
If 24hrs the RM will be fine with more ice blocks, any longer and I'd be looking at the Icey Tek.
500ml bottles of water make great ice blocks and you can use the contents.

I have a 40L IceyTek for longer sessions
It's amazing, but the trade off is the size/weight. If you want something that's going to last, and be worth the extra coin - I wouldn't entertain the RM.
The iceytek gel ice packs are also very very good. I use them with a Speero cool bag for normal length sessions, and it's still cold 3 days later. The added bonus is that the large iceytek packs are an exact fitment in the bottom of the Speero bag.
It's amazing, but the trade off is the size/weight. If you want something that's going to last, and be worth the extra coin - I wouldn't entertain the RM.

Like you I've been through most of the carpy coolboxes (haven't splurged on IcyTek yet however) and the Speero outperforms all for elongated cooling IMO - perfect for 48-72hrs. The walls are proper thick and the secondary cover that protects the zip all round probably also helps . . .I have both the modular and standard modular which are basically the same cooler with and without exterior pockets . .
The Thermos Freezer blocks (pack of 3x) fit perfectly - one on the base and two on either side wall . . will also now look at the IcyTek large as its twice the thickness but also 2.2kg!
