Has anyone used big big pit reels with 8FT rods what's the pros and cons

I have 2 Prologic c.o.m raw 8FT rods and just purchased 1x Shimano aerlex XTC
Which are very big I'll be buying one more big pit next month

Should I buy some 12ft rods or can I save some money and keep my 8fts

Why do you need big pit reels on small rods??.

If you want to cast far then you really want 12ft rods to go with the big reels.

I planed on a full upgrade but wondering on saving money now
My previous reels are NGT profilers

But yeah my intentions were to buy new rods and reels

And I only fish small lakes apart from 1

Rods and reels need to be matched and balanced, just look at what match feeder anglers use. We could all learn a lot from those guys.

Then you went on about the new Aerlex xtc's.

Now you've bought only one to go with a nearly 15 year old 8ft rod.

I'm struggling to keep up,,,

My advice to you is go into a tackle shop and get someone to sit you down and discuss what you really need mate 👍🏼

Haha lol I was gonna buy 3 but just checked on 3 or 4 lakes near me and there only let you use 2 rods

So I bought one and I'll grab the next one in January

I can barely keep up myself just try to save money and put to other stuff that I need

I honestly can't think of any reason to have a pair of 8ft rods as your main rods. There are far too many situations where they will underperform compared with 10, 11 or 12ft rods, and I'm not just talking about casting distance. The absolute minimum length I'd have as my main rods, and I did, would be 11ft.
Reelwise I would say that something around the size of the Shimano 5500's or Daiwa 5000t's are the perfect all-rounders. That said, the bigger reels wouldn't hamper you or cost you opportunities to catch fish.

I use 8000 size super baitrunners on my ESP 8ft Stalkers. That's a nice combo

Have a look at the Penn Rival LC 6000 blacks.

I've got three and they change between my shorter and longer rods nicely. Spool capacity is 200yards so ideal unless you're boating out baits
