Place I'm fishing has gone overgrown, so looking a a pair of cheap low test curve stalking rods for occasional use .
As per my title ,do these NGT 9ft ,2 .5 tc ,have a nice soft action ?

Darent Valley 9ft 3lb. Cheap as chips. You will get your customer service and after care.
They are everything which you are looking for. Don't worry about the 3lb stated TC. Go in there and have a little play if you can. They bend right through to the butt with the most lovely through action.
They are like carp rods used to be in action.
You also have the 6ft 2.5lb. Referred to as 'tree' rods.

I forgot about Tackle box ...Good shout,actually ..,I'm.about 350 miles from the shop though ,but bought lots of stuff from the shop ,agree always test if you can before you buy,but in this case ,can't
Will give that good consideration,as they won't be used massively..in theory

if they are anything like the 4pc 11ft 2.75lb rods, they will have a true through action which are probably built on a heavy fly blank plucked from a catalogue..
Lovely action though.

Another vote for the TB Darent valley rods. Had a pair of the 9ft 3lb myself for a while and they were great. Only sold them as I wanted a set of telescopic/ compact style rods.

Funny you should say that - I was thinking about having a fibreglass fly rod built as a cap stalking rod. I think that it would either be the best stalking rods ever or a terrible and expensive mistake!
