I know a little while ago there were people on here saying that they had a problem with this reel does anyone know if okuma was made aware of it
And was it put right by them as I am thinking of buying a set

Apparently, there is a m1 and mk2 version of the Inc's, the mk2 addressed the issue of the stretching spring, or summat similar in the anti reverse, on and off ..


I remember it being mentioned on here ,also my son has Inc's, from when they first appeared ,with no problems ..so ....Best ask in shop etc...

As far as I am aware they rectified the issue. I had the Mk1s which were faultless, lovely reels, until they weren't. I was using them on my river set up, and more often than not, would be playing a carp, and the reel would be slipping. I lost all confidence and sold them for spares/repairs and went for a set of old emblem S 4500.

I have 5 of them , 3 off them are around 6 -7 years old now the other 2 are almost new.

I did have one were the anti-reverse would fail to engage but it was only my own laziness being the cause - it had just gone to long without a bit of a service, the mechanism which is under the base of the reels was clogged with crap. Good cleaning with Duck Oil/WD 40 and a blast with an Air line to remove everything, all been fine since.

A mate has 6 of them too - he's never had an issue.

Buy with confidence now mate, I had a set with the problematic anti reverse. Got in touch with Okuma, they were aware, and swapped the duff reels for some new ones which are now spot on.

Mine are all great too - I've got 3 of them and never had an issue

I have 6 (i imagine mk1's) and so far no issues

No issues with mine.

Have three on my sonik 8ft. Never had an issue
