Hi all, apologies if there are threads in these subjects already, but after 4 years away I'm a little out the loop.

I'm looking for someone ideally local to me, to be able to service a pair of SS300's as I'm not too keen on posting them, I'm also looking for someone who can re build a set of free spirit XS's for me, handles and potential ringing.

I'm in the Essex, Cambs, Herts or Bedfordshire orbit.

Any info would be greatly appreciated

There is Dave Kelly from Trafford Tackle repairs ,he's on fb and insta ,I don't do those things but he can do both of what you need,only thing is......he's in Manchester,I've used him ,no problem ,and I'm in Westcountry..

Reel tech in march,cambs for the reels. Not sure if he does rebuilds but John Hutchinson in biggleswade might be worth a call

Tackle box in dartford Kent just the other side of the dartford bridge for reel servicing less than a mile away from it . They have instore reel servicing work shop and John Hennessy custom rod building his 1 mile away from the tackle box he used to build their rods for them when he worked at the tackle box johns number 07534 861648

Unreliable IMO - he just stopped communicating with me about some rods that I needed some work on, about the same time as Johnson Ross announced he was gonna work with them.

My recommendation would be East Coast Rod Build & Repairs. He did 6 x Amorphous rods for me and did a great job. I know several others who are very happy with his work.

Would of thought Weston developments would be in your orbit. They now have a shop St Albans I think? Might be able to help with the rods also they use buzzard rods for there shop builds..

I've used Nick at Reel Tech to do a few sets of reels over the past few years. He's great, would recommend.

The screws on my reel seat have failed on my XS also

Absolutely this.

I use western and Buzzard rods. Coops is a decent rod builder
