my old Aqua M3 & wrap have been in the loft for 12 years, fair chance they might need a proper clean and reproof.

Fabseal Gold is more concentrated but it has no UV protection. Clean the bivvy with a sponge and natural soap (cheap on Amazon), rinse thoroughly, allow to dry and apply normal Fabseal. Fabric will bead water for at least a season if not put away wet.

I was always under the impression that Fabsil Gold was for breathable material such as Aquatex etc so would use that one on an M3

I have an armo 2 man which I purchased second hand after being told it had recently been fab sealed
Needless to say it leaked quite badly on the first bar up from the rear
I fabsealed it myself after cleaning and gave the leaking area a couple of coats
I used it in france a couple of weeks ago and it still leaks on the same seam
Is the bivvy beyond saving or am I not sealing it correctly

Maybe the seam tape needs replacing.

Back along I was restocking a lake,and I asked the question to the man who originally designed the Armos,Tempests ,Aqua domes and Evos about reproofing
Answer was fabsil ruins the breathability on those shelters that claim to be breathable,I reckon the op,has a seam leak ,I use a waterbased seam sealer on the outside of the seam ,especially if the interior tape sealing is intact..
It works for me,it will darken the overlapping sewline,but hey,it's provenance and alleged carpy ..

There's a product called Repel available on ebay. It was formulated by "Diver Dave" (wader repair man) to prevent breathable waders from wetting out, and loosing their breathability. I've used it on various breathable jackets and a Pertex smock, it works, but does need reapplying occasionally, depending on use. Whether or not it would be better than Fabsil on a bivvy, I don't know.

I've used storm care products for the last 10-15 years for my bivvied and canvas very good and eco friendly.
