the tench boys rake spots quite regularly on the club water, sometimes it works out hopping on a day or two afterwards for the carp..other times not.

Quote: Creek material for Nashy early pursuit luggage, including those two and three rod holdalls,so you could keep your reel on the rod.
I bought a Nash rucksack and 3 rod holdall in 1986,
The rucksack gave up the ghost 2005-ish and zip went on the the rod holdall about a year later.

definitely not a lover of camo fishing gear, it was required and worn for pigeon shooting but a personal no-no on the bank or god forbid casual. Would rather walk though the high street in bright pink Crocs. ( I don't own any).
I see those poor souls wandering Tesco on a Saturday morning in carpy camo and suppress a shocked ...'sorry didn't see you there'.
Covering tackle in camo-tape would simply mean that I'd be more likely leave it behind.

Haven't been out in a proper storm for years.
Went to a winter social on Sand Martin at Bluebell, it blew a proper hoolie in the night everyone got battered.
A couple of bivvies were flattened, one of the new Trakker Ultralight snapped it's ribs at the block. .
I managed to catch a mid-20 in the middle of it all, Delks worked overtime but fortunately a it gave a howling run.
few fish came out in that but it was hairy.
I struggled to get and keep my landing net in the water.

Quote: I tend to think this is why fish end up in the middle of lakes a lot of the time as they can be โonโ winds no matter what direction they are blowing.
same on my club water, they are on a new wind pretty quickly but don't neccessarily change their usual patrol routes and often show heading into the wind
However what doesn't help that, its relatively narrow..roughly 1000yds long and runs SW to NE.
They go with the wind, against the wind and sudden drop or swing will have them stop 100yds from you and turn around again.
Yesterday I was lazy and wanted to stay fairly dry so fished just off the back of the wind ( and rain) with the sun in ny face.
With sun and wind they started to show 30yds off the opposite bank but disappeared when it rained.
I was ready to move twice, just wind in, take the brolly down and the heavens opened.
It was wet enough for the exstra weight to bring down a large linb of a 60ft willow 150yds up the bank.
Near miss tbh, I'd chucked a couple of handfulls in the margin planning to give it a go on my way back round,

Bought a Gardner pod when I fished a pit with impenetrable gravel banks , thought |I'd hit the jackpot..it was horrible with three rods on it.
pretty sure I have one of the adjustable 3 rod bars knocking around the shed and the brass adjustable bar ends.
Could only find two of the monkey climbers.

A few weeks ago there was a work party on the club lake, they were strimming the far bank.
The seagulls were completely thrown by the noise, probably the first time I've been able to use a catapult without giving the flying rats a free meal.
Week after that the village pub had a live band on, the music echoed across the fields and again without a definite sound to home in there would only be one or two half-heartedly circling instead of twenty.
Didn't really help that much because half a dozen mallards dived on my baits all day. Although it was fun watching the gulls trying to mug the ducks as they surfaced.

if I remember correctly the black slime was supposed to be a killer roach bait.
