Planning on using some condensed milk to dampen up crumb through the colder months, usually add some light-ish hydro into the mix and if prepared in advance warm the milk with some Bailey's. I noticed they do a fat free version - might this be better, I've read a lot about fats not dispersing in cold water etc.

Just use a cheap knock off Baileys from Aldi or Lidle, don't need to add anything else.

If you feel the need to warm it, do it bankside and add to your mix then.

The knock off Baileys is made with white wine rather than whiskey....not sure if the fish care though

Anglers have been using condensed milk in bait applications in the winter since the day dot. Full fat, you never used to be able to get any low fat versions. The reason you would even be contemplating it, is because you know it has winter form. Good angling.

Anglers have used condensed milk since the day dot in the winter, simply because it works.

Should you not use it because of what some fella on the internet said and a bit of confirmation bias? Fellas say a lot of stuff on the internet, especially on this forum. They mean no harm, but they often don't have a single clue whatsoever what they are talking about.

Go with what you know, not what some fella on the internet said.

Whatever fellas put the doubts into the OP head about stuff that he already clearly knows works in the winter. Would have thought that was obvious.

Condensed milk is pretty high fat for a liquid, but even higher in sugar. Carp love it in the winter. It's fat that spreads throughout the cold water, very visibly so.

Used it in the late 70s with crumb on the match scene, effective but not new as you say.

Coconut milk on the other hand wasn't freely available back then but I'd happily use instead these days. As per your if it grows in a hot place post.👍 Not so nice over tinned peaches though is it.

Probably stick with my full fat then - Bailey's, tried and tested; at the right time of year (it's coming ) it's as cheap as the cheap stuff. I wouldn't put any of the fortified wine ones in - taste different to me. Vodka cream liquors kinda interest me. Did really well using vodka on my hookbaits, so maybe they prefer vodka to whiskey, but wine? It's a no for me.

Btw Bailey's is down to £13 for a litre on Amazon ATM. Probably hit £10 once the supermarkets start the festive offers.

Do you think the fish know the difference between Wine, Whisky or Vodka?
It's just alcohol.

Used the Aldi version of baileys (not the cheapest one though) for years now. I've seen absolutely no difference between that and brand name baileys. Tried all the versions, white choc, choc, caramel and hazelnut (purple bottle, this tastes so nice).
Are you sure?
