Morning all,
Well where I am, it seems that Summer might be over with lots of rain forecast for the foreseeable future.
Just wondering what people opt for when it comes to waterproof jackets and trousers?
I really like the styling of the Nash Zero Tolerance gear but the pricing is quite steep and can't help but feel there is a hefty amount of carp tax added to it.
I have some pretty thick base layers already so im not in need of stuff that would keep me warm, just dry.
Is there a forum favourite? look forward to seeing what people can recommend...

I've used Nash waterproofs in the past. To behonest they weren't up to much. Calling them waterproofs when they was anything but. This was a while back mind and I think a lot of tackle brands have upped there game when it comes to water proof clothing these days.
But I think a lot of them have got a long way to go to match the quality of some of the higher end outdoor clothing specialist out there. I for one can't fault the Berghaus brand. They've never let me down.
If it's got to be fishing branded I've heard good things about the Fortis waterproofs. The name escapes me.

I just used a poncho now - you can get the same one as the nash version off amazon for around £10-15.
Covers everything down to knee and i generally use waders or water proof leggings (vass). Also great for using as a cover for my gear if raining as i generally fish a water where you have to use boats.

for outdoor brands - patagonia & arcteryx have lifetime guarantee's - expensive ion the short term but save money in the long term.
for fishing brands, a friend has the korda stuff & he said it is as good as anything he has every worn (including the brands above)

I have had a poncho in my rucksack for over 30 years now - one of those versatile bits of kit that works for everything from barrow cover, bedchair cover, groundsheet, sun shade, wind break & of course waterproof. had a rubberised german army one whilst in the UK but have used a cheap aliexpress one for the last couple of years - indispensable bit of kit IMO

Another for Korda drykore, got jacket snd trousers and used them in several downpours, from fishing, walking the dog and school drop off's, been really impressed and kept bone dry!

At the moment I'm still using Deerhunter as when I find something I like I usually buy 2 sets, hunting brands are usually good. I've also got Flecktarn army jacket and trousers which is very good too.
Have a look at New Forrest Clothing's own range, very reasonably priced and well reviewed by people who use them daily for their outdoor jobs.
