I've just had a set of aviators custom made by Tom at Cotswold Rods. Very very impressed. Just wish I have ordered a spod at same time.
I have my longbow which has served me well but I'm thinking I would like a harrison blank now.
Dosnt have to be an aviator blank but it does need to be able to do the job well and be a harrison blank in 12ft. Preferably woven carbon top section to match butt section.
What's the thoughts 🤔

I prefer 13 but OP says he's after 12.

Would also go for 12'6 / 13' pref based on the 12' Plus I own - tricky rods to cast; maybe the 12' Spod is ok though (stiffer tip?)

13ft is the one to get much easier to use and compress

I have 12foot plus 2 rods and really don't want to be messing about with 12.6 or 13foot rod holdalls. I'm not chucking to the far bank so 12 foot is my preferred. Question was is there a harrison blank, with the same looking weave as the aviator but a in 12 foot or am I best to just stick with aviator

I have the 12 foot Aviator Spod. It's a lovely rod to use, not difficult to compress.

Jeff i have a 12ft torrix spod rod how does the aviator spod compare to it in 12 and 13 for castability and range

Hello mate for me and all the people i have built them for both the 12ft , 12ft 6 and 13ft aviator are far better than the torrix in both casting and range . A spod rod of course varies from user to user but the aviators are thr best out there in my opinion.
