Hello all,
I've been looking for quite some time now for a copy of Moon River by Pete Springate, I have seen there is currently one for sale for £120 but I'm currently not prepared to pay that for a book that retailed for £25.
So if anyone has a copy that they would be willing to sell then please let me know, condition of the book is no real issue as I just want to read it and not display it on a bookshelf.
Hopefully hear from one of you.

They are worth what people are willing to pay for them not the Cover Price unfortunately.
I can't see anyone letting a copy of a book go for lower than the market price if I'm completely honest.
I'd love a copy of Waiting for Waddle to add to my collection and should have bought one about 10 years ago as every time i think they're going for silly money the price just goes up even more!

Someone who bought it new and sold their copy of Waiting For Waddle for decent money told me it was 'not even that good'.
Each to their own though isn't it.
I paid a reasonable amount for the Perch Fishers Biggest Fish of All and I don't regret it one bit, its a great book.
None of that's any help at all with the original question. Someones going to have be oddly nice to let one go cheap when they could sell it for a £100+ and buy another 3 or 4 new books to read.

Just asking a question guy's, I completely agree but just coz someone is asking £120 doesn't mean it's worth that when I can clearly see on previous sales on eBay within the last couple of months have sold for between£60-70 all three of his books sold for less than £150, I've offered £70 to which they said no and that's their stance, fair play but as it stands I feel I've made a decent offer and as high as I want to go.
As for other books as stated I have the one that broke the internet and waiting for waddle and many more but currently the book stated in the thread title is the book I'm interested in as I'd been recommended to read it and I've posed a question to see if anyone maybe wants to sell there copy of know somebody who does.

I think due to them been unique fishing articles and limited press they may become collectible by a few enthusiasts

It's down to the buyer to sell it for what he wants. While you may feel it's a decent offer, he clearly doesn't. Just keep looking and one within your budget may pop up.

I think the key to the ask that seems to be missed by a few is that the guy wants a ‘reading copy' it doesn't sound to me that it's an outrageous ask, lots of books go for big money and for collectors like me, but a dog eared copy to read on all but the rarest usually get sold for a fraction of the mint value.

Lol it was a long time ago now. Mr Thompsons book was a great thing at the time sitting in his front room of a one bed flat unable to move anywhere lol. Like music, books are a personal thing. If this young guy lived local id lend him my copy of waiting for waddle but wouldnt risk posting in case it got lost.

Abe books don't have one right now, but they're probably the best source of rarer used books on the internet, and you can get notifications from them if one comes in to stock.

If you've read Waiting For Waddle why not sell your copy for £150 and buy Springate's book?
That would be below market value, but somebody else would get to read your book and you would get to read Springate's. Easy.
