All I would suggest is in regards to terminal tackle, hooks etc take more than you think you will need. Chances are you won't need the extra but whilst there are shops to stock back up its an inconvenience you could do without whilst on hols especially if you use a particular brand

Moved to correct section
As stated previously, dependant where you are going, treat it as a long session in the UK.
i would suggest larger hooks

Factor 30/50 - mozzie repellent - ant powder - decent power pack for charging - first aid kit - your own life jacket if using boats - more bottled water than u think you'll need - dymacare wash mits.
In general, eat well and keep yourself well, little worse than being poorly while away plus you want to be nice and sharp so you fish your best .

Been to france a lot over the years and learned from my experiences each time. As a first timer it would be helpful to know if you are going drive and survive or if you have some sort of accomodation.
a few things....
- spare alarm and batteries, nothing worse than one packing up on you
- don't take shedloads of bait unless you're absolutely sure the venue responds to loads of bait. My best trips have been where I have fished for bites rather than a hit
- spare spool of decent mainline
- spare headtorch and batteries
- waterproofs and spare clothes, the session will last longer than you're used to and it is refreshing to change into clean clothes at least a couple of times!

And don't make the common mistake of filling it in with bait on day one!!! as the old adage goes, you can't take it out but you can put a bit more in.

Find out what they feed the fish with and look at using some of that.
Not sure if you're going all inclusive or not, but, even if you are,
Make a effort to go to the supermarkets or in town bakeries, the BBQ food is great and the patisseries amazing. Our 1st trip way back when, drive and survive we lived on noodles all week and used filtered lakewater as we were too scared of getting lost....again (pre sat nav and google maps days)...oh how we missed out!
+1 for larger hooks.
Cotton/thread/needle
Small needle/lb nylon in case you need to stitch yourself up.
Antiseptic (our freind was kicking wood against a tree to break it for a fire, it snapped and hit his face splitting his lip inside and out)
Hospital treatment card (whatever it's called now, in case of above etc)
Tick remover
If you're driving, a can of that tyre foam, in case your unlucky enough to get 2 punctures!
Lots of other stuff I can't think of. If you're reliant on something take a back up, stove etc.

OK TOP TIP !!!!!
EVERY TIME I go to France
straight into the nearest big supermarket they sell mozzy coils that are NON TOXIC and work 100 times better than the toxic shyte you can buy here
its because they are based on Geranium oil thats super effective and wont give you a nasty headache and you WONT get bitten
get your phone out take a picture of this that way when you go in the supermarket you just show them and they will direct you to them I always buy a carrier bag full to take home
JUST MAKE SURE ITS GOT A PICTURE OF A GERANIUM ON THE BOX AS PER MY PICTURE
