Going to get a new landing net and i fancy the solar nets. Really like the look of the A1 bow loc (would love the p1 but can't justify the price at the moment). Just looking for any reviews on them. Is the mechanism reliable?

I'm a bit of a solar fanboy, and recently wanting a new net I did seriously consider the bowlocs. However, in the end I decided to keep it simple and went wth the bow-lite. I really like it.

I have an A1 , all good , nice positive spreader block locking mechanism. One handed operation to dismantle. Just a drop of 3 in 1 every few months keeps it nice a smooth to put and down.

I've got a p1 and don't rate it at all. To use the push button fold mechanism you have to take the strain off the spreader by pushing the arms apart anyway, which kind of defeats the idea. It feels heavy in use, and the net's too shallow for my liking.
I much prefer my old Nash venom net.

That's pretty much what a mate of mine said about his. He had to wrestle with his just to release the button. He bought it with the intention of simply pressing a button to release the net. He ending up selling it.

Hmm maybe i'll go and have a look at the bow lite instead. Was hoping it was just a case of pressing the button, but if you have to release the tension then may as well get a standard one instead.

Bow Lite is a decent net, and a much more reasonable price.

I have the bowlite but swapped the mesh out for deep mesh from the tackle box, can't fault it
