My current Brolly is on its last legs, started to leak through the boss. To be fair it's lasted me around 200 nights so not bad going. I'm going to try to repair with a bit of storm sure and a rewaterproofing but it's days are probably numbered.
My fishing is typically work nights, all year round so my priorities for a shelter are speed, light,, easy to dry out.
I've always been a conventional Brolly user for the reasons outlined above, but I'm conscious that things have moved on.
For those who fish short sessions like myself, What is the BEST short session shelter out there?

Look at Nash Titan hide or hide xl or tempest 100 brolly all much better than a brolly imo all go up nice and quick and are free standing once up

I was a brolly/brolly system user for many years, I can recommend the titan hide xl, v quick to put up, v stable, and plenty of room without being huge.

I ended up using my tempest brolly more than anything else I owned after a while. I had a pioneer, which came a close second but that tempest brolly really took some besting for the price.

My fishing is similar to yours, I went for a sonik axs bivvy. 30 seconds to put up, comes with front that can be zipped on if desired.

I've had a fair few traditional brollies over the years, then got the original Tempest Brolly, now the 100T. Can recommend the 100T for the extra height vs a similar weight and pack down size to the standard. I do the same type of angling as you and would advise nylon vs the Aquatexx type materials. Lighter weight and it's fine packing up wet if you need to, dries out quick next time you are out and doesn't need any looking after.

My style of fishing is different to yours, but I too am after a lightweight shelter, with a door and groundsheet. My current bivvy is a Trakker MB composite which weighs 10Kg with everything, including a skull cap. Whilst 10Kg may not seem that heavy for a bivvy, if feels it as I get older and have some issues with my joints. Hence the search for a lightweight shelter. I seriously like the look of the Wychwood Tactical Compact Bivvy and may take the plunge. It has good reviews, and only weighs 6Kg all in, obviously lighter without the groundsheet and zipped front. This will do for short overnighters and keep my Trakker for longer sessions.

I would checkout the brilliant solar undercover brolly. it comes with a removable front too only 7kg with everything pegs storm poles front lot lighter if stripped of course
