Any recommendations for a decent mat that can be clipped onto the esp rucksack. Heard to many bad stories to use there own version. Needs to be able to support fish upto 40lb ideally. I'm sure you can by straps with clips on so wouldn't need to be included with the mat.

Korum fast mat,they do an XL version now as well,or the Transistion fokda mat,also by Korum,I believe that it's discontinued maybe a 2nd hand one

Hi, as Wandle, Korum Fast Mat £25 Future Fishing, for STD version (theres now a new Supa Lite Version). Might be other thread on here.
Ok size wise, mind for Barbel (long)some like Korum Folda Mat mainly cos its 4" longer (OTOH).

Eyelets Rusting, retaining water after use, walls inadequate to support the fish. Cords not lasting.
Only going off what I've read on threads on here.

All sounds like user error to me, either putting it away wet, not drying it out first, and relying on the mate to perform basic fish care. The walls are there to help prevent the fish sliding off, not to allow for bad fish care.

I would go for the XL version of the fast mat. I own the regular version but this is definitely too small.

I use the aqu one with mine . Its the camo one and rolls up nice and clips on btm

There's nothing wrong with the ESP quickdraw - it does what it says on the tin and clips to your rucksack. I've been using the compact (Drennan Specialist) for rivers and small water carping and its perfect . . . .none of the associated problems you've stated whatsoever

I've had a quickdraw for over a year now, and I'm pretty happy with it. Yes, the eyelets have rusted slightly, but don't think it's taking in any water. I was worried this would happen as the first time I rolled it up wet I could see air bubbling out from the seams, my fears seem to be unfounded. No problem for me with the cords slipping, yet. I must admit it gets rolled up wet if it's had a fish on it or it's raining and gets left like that in the garage, I'm normally out 2-4 days a week, so gets aired fairly regular.

I have the transition Foldder. It's great. Clips.on to my
Transition Ruckbox and Nano chair and can carry it all on my bike.
Sad to read its discontinued

The padding is also far too thin. They are a rare bad product from esp imo.

Thanks to you and Wandle for the recommendtion of the Fast Mat .... I have been looking for a small cradle style mat for days fishing for silvers etc and this looks perfect
