Ok guys just got back from a great session and I really struggled to do my self takes with my Samsung. I would like your advice on doing self takes with a mobile phone.Im not interested in buying a camera,had one in the past and it's just more weight.
Any modern gadgets or apps I can use to help? Thanks.

I use a phone popper with a rod rest, then just video and take screenshots from that

Samsung galaxy mobile phones have a built in voice control you probably just need to enable it in settings
I just shout cheese at it and it takes a picture

Get a cheap Bluetooth remote from Amazon. Push it down the finger if a latex glove and tie a knot in it. You then have a light simple waterproof camera remote. If you haven't got a tripod get a phone holder that screws into a bankstick or storm pole

I have a Samsung a52 , I just downloaded self timer app, it's very versatile...I set mine with following, 30 sec countdown, 1 min takes 5 shots, repeat for other side of fish if required...
I use a bank stick with the small esp butt rest to grip phone...
Just take a few practise shots before after the rods go out to make sure u happy with everything etc...
The pics come out very good using the app

Cheapo phone holder,from the land that makes everything!
Put a thick washer, grommet on the inner of the dinsmore bankstick,this determines ,roughly your set height ..
You don't need any handheld remotes ,whistle apps ,nothing.. like that ,as the focal length is short,
Set camera/phone to 10 second delay,..take one pic with flash,one without..choose ,the best one.
Process ,...fish is on unhooking mat,put fingers under pec,ready..reach across ,with other hand press button ,ten seconds, done..
I'm used to taking hundreds of pics blind, via 35mm ,before digital, came along..
Practice at home ,maybe get a cushion carp, or old pillow to hold for practical framing..
Ps,the grommet on the shaft ,is to allow the phone to swivel ,so you don't get up to check the pics ,the angler stays with the fish at all times,in one process..

Bank stick and phone holder (ideally with LED too for night/low light pics). Selfie fish do loads of different ones on eBay and work really well.
Check if your phone has voice control. It's by far the easiest way to pop off a few pics. If not, ‘Hey Camera' app is better than whistle cam, it's voice controlled rather than whistle, which doesn't work well when it's windy.
Set it up at the start of your session and take a practise shot so you've got everything framed right, then it's just a case of putting your phone in the holder when you've got a fish in the net/sling.

If t isn't available on your phone, download an app. There area couple of multishot timer tools out there allowing you to shoot multiple pictures with a certain interval time. You can modify the timer before the first shot and the interval between each picture.
For example, 10 sec timer followed by 5 pictures with an interval of 5 sec will be perfect

I use the "Hey Camera" app, which will take a picture whenever you say a specified word (for me it's "NOW").

As someone who used to struggle with self-takes, this has improved things no end.
I don't like timers because if you're not ready after a specified time (e.g. misbehaving fish) then you need to go back to the phone, and the whole process needs to start again.

I just take a video when I'm ready using a tripod, then take a photo from the video.
