Looking at a new set of alarms and have been drawn to these for a variety of reasons and wondering if anyone can give me a detailed review of them. Been considering all the options (I have the Fox mini microns which are good, but I just feel like something different) and am currently between these and ATTs. Reading some comments on here the main issues seem to be battery life and range on the receiver, but also these issues don't seem to be experienced by everyone so views from people that have used them for a period of time would be much appreciated. Also are the plus versions worth the extra cash compared to the standard? Thanks in advance

£50 more than the ATTs with 8 magnet roller wheels as standard with sensitivity settings. If any good the additional functionality feels worth £50

I saw some sets of new ATT's with receiver for £220 on F/B.
I agree the ECU's look nice but not sure price is right - may be for you though!

I have quite a selection of alarms and have the Mk1s which I love (I also own ATTs).
From my point of view I love:
The look of them
The ease of use
Simple controls - turn the heads down and the receiver up
I've had no more issues with the receiver than other makes, I us emy mainly to have the heads on silent and when recasting just turn receiver off.
Sensitivity seems sensible - I am only a 'too windy' type anglers who doesn't obsess over setting for 'twitchy' bites.
The rods stay on em, even well pulled at ridiculous angles
battery life is OK for me, and you can get them in the corner shop as opposed to many makes that use the most obscure batteries known to man.
Price wise I always buy second had and given cult nature I think they are reasonably priced.
mate had an issue with his set and one head was replaced by return NO FUSS
If I could only have one set of alarms would I choose these - maybe not, but i believe they have many more advantages that ATTs. I certainly wouldn't get the new set, I like less buttons NOT MORE - I have alarms that do stuff that i have never used and would never want to.

Looked at them in depth recently because I love the looks. Decided against as I already have all singing top of the range wolf icons which I haven't used yet as I have nev's which I love. The nev's for me do all that I need, battery life is very good, simple to use, reliable and look better than anything else.

I don't have a set,my son does for the last few years,simply put he likes and rates them, he fishes the same places as me which are rough and windy places,those ECU alarms have held firm in all situations .
If my Delkim's went wrong ,beyond viable repair I would without hesitation get a set...I really like the vibrate strength on his reciever ,they good bits of kit..

I had a set for around 4 seasons. The alarms worked fine over that period but the receiver range was abysmal it wouldn't reach the next peg that was 30 yards tops. The battery life was extremely poor also I ended up getting rod in the end.

I've have a set of Super plus for about 2 years now. I've found them good and reliable. Easy to use - the settings are easy to change. The mute function is good when setting the bobbins. A solid alarm. I've not had to change the batteries in the heads, but have once had to change the battery in the receiver once. It helps if you use good quality batteries. As to range in the receiver, I don't wander that far from my rods but it seems ok. I did find that when the receiver battery ran down the range reduced, as you would expect.

Had the Mk1 compacts the battery life was OK range on receiver was fairly limited, a mate of mine had the R1 compacts but preferred the look of my Mk1's so we did a straight swap and the receiver range is slightly better which both sets were plenty for me as I'm never far from the rods unless I'm up a tree near the swim having a look or just out the swim having a wazz, whilst they have many more functions and buttons they are easy to navigate, if buying a set now I would be looking at the MK1 Super + Compact special edition bug eyes as they are the latest model released plus I like the look of the over sized LED

I do like the look and spec of those limited edition ones. Just trying to justify the extra cost in my head as if I go for those then they are significantly more expensive than the ATTs

Yep comes down to what you really want to pay, I've never owned ATT's probably one of the only popular alarms I haven't had but they've always looked a bit Micky mouse to me especially the size of them, had plenty of mates who have them and rate them.
TBH I rarely use my ECU's they're a bit nice for my type of fishing I generally use my Micron X's or newer MX's when abroad or doing longer sessions the cost represents the abuse I give them generally left on sticks lumped in a mat or left on a pod whilst transporting them I'm not overly fussed then If they get damaged they're cheap enough to replace, over the years I've had the expensive alarms TXI's DXR's NTXR's with all the functions at the end of the day the just need to beep when the string gets pulled.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Gone with ATTs with the deluxe receiver as don't think the standard ECU would be worth the cost and I can't justify the cost of the newer plus model which seems to have sorted the receiver issue. Definitely keep my eyes open for a set in the near future
