Hiya,

I have recently managed to get some Fox FX11 reels.
My question is will these be ok on 10ft rods? or do you think the reels are a little too big?

The 10ft rods I have are Nash Dwarf.

Any feedback much appreciated.

When you plan to drop rigs and play fish from a boat i would see nothing wrong in using a big pit reel on 10ft rods.
But for general fishing (casting and playing fish from the bank) i would suggest to take a smaller reel, baby big pit style.

I use fx9 reels on my 10ft rods, they balance perfect.

I use technium 12000 MGS TXB on my 10 foo 3.5tc scopes if that helps

They'll be fine, but the purists on here will start going on about balance of rod & reel.

A lot depends on whether you want to shell out for another set of reels. I have mini pit reels (Okuma Inc 6000) on my 10' rods, but I got these for (a) a Christmas pressie and (b) to save me having to break my 12' rods and big pits down (always leave them set up). Think you can get a set of 3 Okuma Inc's for about £125, so it comes down to do you want to spend that much.

I have FX11 and FX9s and personally wouldnt use either on 10ft rods .... I have Okuma Inc6000 on mine

Use them with confidence and enjoy your fishing.

I use Daiwa Iso 5000's on my 10ft rods and they are a similar size.
