I've been using 20lb Korda IQ2 over the last 18 months or so on both my ronnie rigs and also as a ‘boom' section for my Stiff Hinge Rigs. I genuinely really rate the material. I like the fact its fairly supple, how well it straightens under tension and the fact it stays straight too.
I've always heard great things about Amnesia as an alternative. Has anyone got any reviews of it and also what breaking strain people would suggest. I'm tempted to give it a go! Other than the obvious, is there a big difference in the colours?
Also, what knots would people advise to use on this material? I have been using a palomar on the IQ2 with no issues

Depends if you want the boom stiffer or more supple. I use 30lb amnesia black on combi rigs over clean bottoms. Or 15 lb iq2 over more uneven bottoms.

I still think amnesia is the best stuff going for anything stiff. I use 20lb for D rigs and 25lb for hinge booms.
It straightens out with a pull, is very good on abrasion (was made as a sea fishing leader) and a spool lasts about 5 years!
It's easy to work with and takes a knot well. Palomar will work perfectly. I've also got away with crimping the 25lb, but I wouldn't want to say it's better than a knot.
I prefer the clear.

15lb korda boom out in couple months. I love the 25lb but can see myself changing to the 15lb. Cannot beat crimping imo.

Clear 20lb Amnesia for booms & links.
Perfect-supple enough to lay on bottom but stiff enough to act as a boom.
Use palomar's & fire of 8 loop -no issues.

I've now moved on but am yet to try it to ....

Amnesia and Think link are more or less the same product in my opinion.
The XT snag leader is a lovely soft but stiff enough material and is a nice green colour that will go well on the waters I fish (weedy)
Then more supple booms and D rigs I've use ...

The xt snag leader makes a a good boom straightens very easily.
I also like amnesia in 20lb clear and have used it for years for hook lengths and combi rigs again straightens very easily just by pulling, its funny you mention the think link i thought that was awful very hard to straighten without steam and would partly lose its shape after a while in the water, unless i had a bad spool

I've used Think link in 25lb and not had any problems with it. Not sure it's much better than Amnesia though.

Amnesia in 20lb for me.
The black is slightly more supple than the clear.
I use it for combi-rigs to Merlin as a boom section, for mono hooklinks and as the material for D rigs.

Ask nick says black is slightly more supple. I use it in various colours and strengths depending on what I'm using it for
I stopped using IQ2 a few years ago when I started to worry about knot strength. Was ok to start with and then the next three spools bought at different times all caused me concern.
They have all gone in the bin.
