Question is Century Armalite Mk3 2.25 or Harrison multicarp 2.25?
Appreciate these rods cost a fair bit so would anyone have experienced both to make a comparison?

There's things I'd pick a 1.75-2lb torrix or chimera for over a multi carp

I've had Mk1 Armalites since 1987, had them rebuilt in 2017, still use them for 90% of my fishing. Love 'em.
I have 2 x 2lb tc, and 1 x 2.25lb tc.

Other than centrepin use I preferred my 2.5 chimeras (rip) to my multi carp
It is the best rod I've used for centrepin use by far though

10 to 20lb in small ponds. No big chucks using 1-2oz weights with a stringer/small bag
Most ponds will be underarm flick or small overhead to 40-50yds.

For me in that situation it would be the 2lb tc torrix built with good quality guides, 25mm butt to 8mm tip.

A Torrix is never going to be a through action as a multicarp, though, is it?

No and neither would my second choice be, the chimera no3 but I've always favoured a rod with a bit of grunt in the lower butt section.

I had the Armalite MK2's in 2.5lb TC. Amazing rod for playing fish on. Lovely through action and every lung was felt. Unfortunately I had them nicked but if I had the money, and could find a set of blanks, I'd get them again in a heart beat.

I've 2 x Armalite mk 2's.... 2.25 and a Mk 2 2lb er never use now ,,, anyone know roughly what are they worth ?

Wouldn't have thought they were worth loads - my lads customs built Armalites were some I bought off ebay and then had them rebuilt by Kevin Baynes (Anglers Workshop) in 2017. I got 3 x Mk 2's 2.5lb tc for under £120. But I guess I bought them in 2015, so may be worth more now. Depends on how they're built up I suppose.

I'd choose a torrix over a multi carp for pretty much everything. Personal preference for a more modern action and deeper down power so I could have a softer tip but cast heavier loads.

It's a beautiful players rod, but is quite limited.
I love using it and spend a lot of time fishing with a pin, but I've been using an interceptor MR rod for floater fishing over the multi carp since I broke the chimeras.
If you want it for casting straight leads up to about 1.5 oz shortish distances it's a great blank, but it's sloppy and inaccurate if you push it. The chimeras didn't give much up in the playing front, but were a much more versatile fishing rod, having more range, broader weight range and more accurate casting.
All that is reversed when you stick a pin on the rods tho, the crispness of the chimera made casting difficult, and I had a very narrow range of weights I could time a cast with, where the multi carp is really forgiving of a wide range of weights, and quite forgiving if you push your luck trying to cast further. The slow recovery and loading the mid section sooner really helps when casting with a centrepin
