Anyone know of anywhere in the UK that does cheaper spare spools for the Okuma 6000's?
Read a few threads on here about mini big pits, and am looking at getting some for Barbel fishing, downsizing from Emblem 45's. I've seen you can get them for £130 a set of 3, but spare spools are £27 each, which just isn't economical - it puts them in the range of Emcast 25a which already come with one.
Plus you might as well buy a whole extra set of reels for another £16 each...so whilst having lots of spares, you've spent even more. It's putting me off buying them at present.

£16.90 @ muziker. Never heard of them though, but you can pay with paypal so will have some protection. Don't know what the postage costs are though.

I bought some okuma.. 8k shallow spools from them as couldn't find them anywhere else. I wondered why the shipping cost were so high. I didn't realise at the time they are in Slovakia. Couldn't get them elsewhere so hard to pay.

Mmmm, just put them in the basket, £16 for shipping, you're right. Very misleading as it is a .co.uk website with a UK phone number.
For 3 spools, that makes them £22 each. Still bloody dear considering you can get the reels for £43 each. It's a bit of a can really, but then again, as soon as the item is linked to "carp fishing", the Value Added Carp Tax gets added. I recently paid £22/spool for my Mitchell Avocast FS 7000's reels which I paid £111 for a set of 3 about 4 years ago.

i did look into spare spools but didnt seem readily available and in the end assumed they would be £20+ each so felt additional reels were better value. I have six of them now for this reason
