Anyone fished or fishing solely with maize? If so what sort of quantities are you putting in? I understand its almost unlimited so 5kg to 10kg over 2 rods in 48 hours isn't too mad?
Really depends how many fish are in front of you, the size of them and whether or not they are up for eating.
But assuming the answer is lots/big/yes then 5kg over each rod over 48 isn't a lot.

As i thought, ta.
Yes big fish up to well over 50 average size 30+, not necessarily lots spread over 15 acres.
Thinking about really lumping it in next spring and summer.

Fished solely with sweetcorn (tinned stuff, not frozen) in decent quantities and have done very well. Standard maize (not fermented/ turbocharged) IMO is far inferior to sweetcorn, aside from hookbaits where it comes in to its own. Know a few people that did very well on Linch years back fishing only corn which opened my eyes

I imagined to save it somewhere I think before it got taken down.
I'm going away for a week tomorrow but drop me a PM to remind me and I'll send it over to you

It all depends on the amount of takes you get and the presence of bream, tench etc.
Starting with 1 kg per rod would be fine.
Don't forget, there are a lot of grains in 1 kg.
If you solely fish maize and the hookbait isn't anything different, the fish need to feed on the maize and you create a chance 1/1000ish it takes your hookbait first.

I've never done particularly well on maize compared to sweetcorn, although had a few good fish.
It is a part of my baiting up mix, mixed in with hemp and tigers if they are allowed to create a feeding area.
Times I have caught on maize on the hook has been over just a couple of pouches or a PVA bag of freebies.
Maize, for me, just does not seem to produce the pre-occupation compared to hemp or even pigeon conditioner when I have used it in large quantities.

Will be using a mix of maize and 10mm boilies, around 7kg for 2 rods over 48 hours, no silvers to worry about. The stock averages 30lb with quite a few a lot bigger so a few kg per rod wont hang around if they get on it, going to fish matching wafters and a washed out pop up on the hooks.
It's something different than the usual 10kg of boilies that's the standard at the moment.
Spodding to between 80 and 120 yards, creating a feeding area roughly 2 by 4 rod lengths. Not every swim responds to big beds of bait so on occasion it will be only 2 to 3 kg over 48, unused bait goes back in the freezer, shelf life and a good jollop shoud aid attraction.

I haven't tried heavy baiting with maize for donkeys years. Last time I did my friend and I fished a large swim with 2 rods each. We put in 25lt bucket of maize over 48hrs over 4 rods I caught 5 carp and my mate caught 11 tench. Rods were only 6ft apart. Weird that I had no tench and he had no carp.
