Hi folks
Looks like I'm going to be able to go to france for the first time mid October, I've decided to take some bigger boilies 22 or 24mm, usually I use baitworks but they done make them that big, any ideas who I should use?

Active baits.

Why 24mm?

Suggest you get some hard hookers. Try initially on their own. If they still have a nibble, coat in either Fox Arma Mesh or women's tights. And if they still get through, coat with both. I've used Baitworks hard hookers in 18mm and they're pretty firm.

If you're still set on big boilies, Poachers do 22mm, incl hard hookers.

Xcel Baits do 24mm boilies.

Carp Company do 24mm boilies.

DNA do a 22mm and 26mm boilies. And 22mm hard hookers.

To name but a few.

I fished a lake in France 20 odd years ago and got hammered by poison chat on 20mm Nash Tangee Squid. A party we shared the lake with were all using Nutrabaits BFM with caviar and BP and wasnt bothered by them at all.

We subsequently took this BFM to other lakes in France and had similar experiences, there was definitely something in that bait they didnt like, it could warrant some further investigation.

Shrink Wrap, think shrink tube but clear and for boilies, I'm sure you can still get it. I bought mine from a electrical place as at the time the Carp stuff cost a small fortune (probably still does). We used to glug the boilies then wrap for added attraction, you'll end up with a hole either pole of the boilie for leakage.
I fished a lake in France where the PC were absolute swines that method totally took them out of the equation. If you want you can pierce the wrap with a needle all round to aid leakage.
I still have some of a 100m roll of the stuff in the garage in case I ever have that problem again.

EDIT On a quick Ebay search, this sort of stuff Click Here

Edit 2, Korda Super Wrap....developed by Korda apparently...from a idea used for decades

Never worried about it, so long as you have a meshed hookbait, the chat just get the “smell” of the bait into the water. 20 or 24 or 40mm just means it takes slightly longer for them to whittle down
Are you sure?
