Anyone have any recommendations for a good slow melt pva bag supplier? Fox and Korda definitely not reaching bottom in 14 ft of water.

Not a great fan of that mate. Was hoping someone would say the Gardner slow mo stuff or Castaway stuff was good and worked well.

depends a lot on water temps of course but I bought a bulk order a few years ago and could recast if I screwed up the first chuck

I know that's not the question you asked but why not use two bags if you are struggling. Just an idea

I have used the castaway slow melt/double thickness bags and can confirm in warm tempretures stay whole up to 20ft depth. In cold water conditions ESP bags will also reach the bottom in tact.

Yep, the best PVA money can buy I used them when they first came out but they dont do slow melt bags in the size i want.
As for the question about double bagging, first off I dont like the messing about having to do this. secondly it shouldn't be beyond the capabilities of these tackle company's to come up with a slightly thicker bag that is suited to deeper water and the warmer months, a few days testing and job done.
But no! it suits the company's that supply for the angler to double bag, double bag double sales, a bit like dropping the lead, It's a scam.

Wouldn't dipping them in some oil, salmon or hemp, slow down the dissolving time ?

Spray them with something like this, problem solved.
However, are you sure they are melting prior to hitting the bottom?? Here's mine and it doesn't start dissolving for a good 15 seconds after contacting the water, I'd be inclined to time your dissolve rate since I'm fairly sure these cheap 70x140 bags would hit that depth before dissolving.

Doesn't getting dragged down into the depths by a lead shorten the dissolve time compared with simply chucking it in the edge and counting until the bag breaks?
I'm fishing at 40-50ft with stringers using quadrupled Fox slow melt tape, and I'm not convinced it all gets to the bottom together.

My bags weigh between 4 and 8oz, and I'd be confident knowing how fast mine drop that I could comfortably hit 20ft deep without a problem, personally I think if you have a reasonably heavy tightly compact bag reducing drag you wouldn't have any issues.
After 20ft I'd probably give it a spray of one cal oil which would more than likely vastly decrease the dissolve but I'm yet to test that as most places I visit are 10-15ft tops.
