Always do a little spring tench fishing these days, and my lake this year will need a boilie approach, due to hoards of ravenous silvers.
Any boilies/flavours that have caught plenty of tench whilst carping? TIA.

Look no further than your username..... always attracted tench for me, usually when I did not want it to.

What has already been said. Been using a few sweet baits through the winter and caught as many tench as carp. The bait I got from Turner's has been very good

Yes, my main consideration was sweet or fishmeal, maybe 'live system...or a creamy nut type bait would be best in 10/12ml.
Thanks for your replys

Live system with a northern special over the top has caught me loads and loads of tench including 2 doubles and a lot of 8-9lbers, and a 3lb roach

hookbaits, com who i use for my barbel bait do a specialist tench boilie developed by Tench enthusiasts.
Best tench baits i have found while carp fishing have been a combination of fishmeal with fruit or cream flavours. Nash Scopex Squid caught me a load of decent tench back in the day into double figures. My PB

Proline Fish & Garlic. And their Garlic & Robin Red is a good second. Caught loads on them. As soon as I switched boilies, I caught no more tench.

Just out of curiosity MiniWelsh, did you have any carp on the Turners nutty boilie?

I only had one on a wafter. Been fishing over a mix of boilies this winter, Manilla and Turner's. Been fishing a variety of pop ups and wafters and had more tench on the Turner's hookbait. Lake starting to wake up but will continue to use this bait for the next few weeks before switching back to my preferred bait for spring
