Do we have any shops/business owners on here that could shed some ilght on sending goods (tackle&bait) from Uk to EU countries when buying online? There is a lot of different info out there from nothing changes to people getting messages from couriers to pay ridiculous amount of extra charges... Anyone dealing with this yet first hand?

tnx unfortunately not a lot of helpful info, just more confusion
just got reply from tackle box on fb that there my be some additional charge... looks like no one knows at the moment. This has a potential to hurt trade big time by the look of it!! Personally I order/buy 95% of my tackle/bait from UK but for sure I am not prepared to pay 20% more or similar for it!

would it not be tax free shopping from abroad and you will pay relevant tax in your country on delivery??

yes, just figure that out as well tnx ... it is without tax you pay vat in your own country but no custom for uk goods, the only problem will be couriers charging a lot probably for this.

Already been a victim, over here in Sweden
Purchased some items middle of December, that arrived afew days ago.
Parcels are subject to 25% import duty + handling fees
Parcel was sent last year,
but that didn´t help
Letters with afew rig bits went through.

Below a certain value seems to be a nightmare for foreign businesses , a couple of my suppliers are in the EU and they can't process orders below a certain value as they would have to register with hmrc for vat

The answer is buried in here ... what a mess. https://www.gov.uk/export-goods
Unless you are happy to pay unexpected charges I'd be careful of importing or exporting anything until things become clearer.
Even worse for companies that want to export to the U.K. ... they are expected to register for U.K. VAT

at the moment you are totally in mercy of couriers and what handling fee they will add... couldnt find any price list for this so it is like buying blank, or as forest gump would say... you never know what you are gonna get... Ordered ozis book 3 days without even thinking about it so will see what "santa" from dpd brings me

yes, import duties to be paid on goods from the UK now

I'm in the same boat as well as I used to buy most of my tackle and bait in the UK. As I understand it the shops in UK shouldn't charge VAT when selling to countries in the EU, but I'm not sure the are aware of that yet. In Denmark we are now supposed to pay danish VAT on orders over £10. Customs duties are to be paid for orders over around £140 if the good do not originate from the UK. This is where it becomes tricky because loads of tackle is produced in the far east and it will be virtually impossible to determine how much originate from the UK. The PVA mesh may come from ESPs UK Factory, the Free Spirit blank will be from the far east, the guides from the States but the rod is built by a UK rod builder. How much paperwork will it take to buy just a small order from a UK tackleshop? And regarding bait I guess that many ingredients are sourced from outside the UK, so buying bait in bulk may end as a costly affair too.
Tough times for a tackle hoarder.

Living in The Netherlands I ordered 3-4 times a year tackle from Angling Direct.
Sometimes because it was cheaper, sometimes because some tackle from ESP and Gardner, etc is hard to get in NL.
Angling Direct has a also a Dutch website.
Is this a workaround so custommers do not have to pay extra taxes, etc?
On their website it says that orders lower than 90 euro come with 4,99 extra shipping costs.
Above 90 euro, it's for free.
Before Brexit, this was something like more than 19 euro's for free shipping.
Oh well, I will see.

Dont think webshops will mentioned the extra costs ( taxes)...
Its not there problem if a country charges extra taxes for import..
But if its the case, it will cost shops allot of income, always ordered allot in the uk, a bit more carefull now..
