I replaced my carp wagon with a nice estate earlier on in the year, whilst it's lovely to drive, and I can fit all my gear inside, I don't like leaving it parked in the bushes, putting muddy gear in etc, I've already paid £400 for a re spray follow some fishing related scratches!

I'm going to spend a little money on an old van, narrowed it down to a 1.9 non turbo D Berlingo circa 2005.

Does anyone have a Berlingo, does all the gear fit? Particularly the rods.

A mate has a berlingo car which two of us go to France in (pre lockdown) x2 lots of gear and bait for a week including 13ft rods not an issue.

i have a 2016 berlingo i bought for fishing use this year and you will get loads of gear. 2 peoples no problem

we actually took 3 of us (rods on the roof rack) to France in one a few years ago. was full but do-able.

I have one. You can get plenty in there, ive had mine and my mates stuff in there no probs

If it doesn't have a full height bulk head you should be able to get the rods above your heads into the compartment above the windscreen. If it's ply lined just knock up some supporting rods across the van behind the front seats & where the rear seats would be.

I have the 56 car version and it comes with the option of interior roof bars which I put the rods and bivvy on, great use of a space that would otherwise not be used. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the van versions have the reciever lugs for the roof bars already in place, getting to them might be a pita hence knocking up your own.

I've had two, an 08 without a bulkhead so the rods were slightly poking past the headrest, and a 14 with a bulk head, so the rods had to go in diagnoally. Apart from a baiting spoon getting obliterated by the sliding side door, no issues. Was handy to keep my gear in the back full time.

Don't get the non turbo 1.9 it's 0-60 in 3 weeks,had one,apart from that a decent van

I have a non turbo peugeot partner which is the same ,15 plate , it is slow and mine is restricted but its bloody good on fuel and can get plenty in it , and my insurance is £170 a year fully comp , saying that im an old **** and live in scotland which makes a massive difference.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'd actually prefer one with a bulk head from a security point of view, whilst I won't be leaving gear in the motor long term, there is the odd trip to the supermarket etc. Not too fussed if it's slow, I've got a quick car for a bit of fun.

I've put these pics on a few times in the past, I have't got my Renault Kangoo anymore combi version, but it was a great fishing wagon More or less the same as the Berlingo

Think Citroen Berlingo is exactly the same (barring the lighting cluster & badge) as Peugeot Partner Teepee . . ?

Seem to be more Berlingos about (and cheaper) but I'm going for a wheelchair converted model in the new year as they have an integrated ramp and ready made fixing points / straps for the barrow (straight on / straight off) etc. Most Partners seem to have the roof lining removed for more headspace etc . . .the other benefit with motability vehicles is they are probably serviced fairly regularly . . . .black out the windows at the rear / remove the disabled / Horizon stickers - carpy van/car heaven!

I was under the impression that wheelchair converted models were a LOT lower due the the ramp gear underneath ? ( I could be wrong lol)

Has anyone actually put bars or supports across the inside of their van to hold their rods like in the pictures? Got a berlingo myself and would like to have this in my van if possible?
