So I noticed that Dave Thorpe Baits is under new management, not sure if a good or bad thing when places like these change hands. Hopefully Tom and Neil are still working within the business.

As a long term user of the bait and seeing what the new management are doing on social media it's got me a little worried.
So what I believe to be the new CM is calling out smaller companies for selling what he thinks are dangerous products which could harm fish.
After a little digging it seems he was trading under Carp R baits on FB which was selling what seems to be the same products he is now claiming are dangerous.

As per companies house the bloke is called Fenton Trewick.

Seems a big shame if this is the way the company is going to be behave to try and increase sales.

As I don't want to support a company that knocks other so publicly, could someone suggest a non main stream (Mainline/Sticky) to buy good quality bait from, hear good things about Aqua baits?

Long winded way of saying you're after a new bait

I suspect you'll be accused of joining just to have a pop at this guy in the public domain. That is certainly what it looks like.

Hope you find a decent bait

So you joined the forum purely to slate off a bait company?

Not my main objective at all and sorry it looks that way. Just surprised by the way this guy is treating smaller companies using the DT brand behind him.
Carp fishing seems to be full "bigger willy than yours" types but wouldn't expect this from a company that has a good name within the industry.

As below. Not slating the company just questioning the new management who seem to want to belittle smaller companies. Nothing wrong with bring this to peoples attention.

I just had a peek at what you're referring to.
The comments were on the blokes personal page. Not DT's. So while I understand your point, you can't slate DT for it. As a company they've done nowt wrong.

As the main representative for DT now I wouldn't expect it even on his personal page, you wouldn't see Tom and Neil doing this.

What really got me is that DT social media/marketing manager jumps on it as well to take the piss.

While I understand it's not from DTs main page it still shows them in a bad light which is upsetting as people worked hard to build this company to what it is today.

Can I ask you which is worse?
Those guys questioning the ingredients others use on their personal page...... or you making accusations against a company they are associated with on an open forum frequented by their customer base?

Works both ways, take it up with them on their personal page mate

I just read the post. I think he had every right to call out said company. His beef was when he asked for clarification if the product was safe he was blocked and his question went unanswered. That would suggest to me the owner of said company doesn't know or care if his product is safe and has something to hide. Hardly an all out unprovoked attack like you suggest. In fact I think he is well within his rights to flag it. It is concerning that any fred in the shed bait firm csn set up selling any old potentially harmful rubbish without challenge.

The fact he used to own a similar small company I see as irrelevant unless he also sold a similar product and refused to answer questions on its safety for use in fishing bait.

Cant help thinking there is more to this story than meets the eye. Your reaction to a story that was posted on his personal page seems irrational to say the least.

Agree never the same since DT moved on, used to buy base mix, sour cream and lump liquid from Dave in the early days very successful combo that did really well in the winter.
