I have just seen on FB that Marsh has finally lost his long battle with the big C .....Marsh was certainly like marmite ...love him or loathe him....me personally i liked him ...when i lived in Oxon and fished his complex especially when he ran the sailing club lake we had words a few times ....but we always sorted things out in the end
i think he was a great ambassador for the fishing community and will be sadly missed

You certainly had to know how to take him. Personally I got on well with him. He was good at sussing people out and if you were a decent human being he was decent to you, I always found.
Certainly a character and a sad loss to the community. He built a fantastic fishery and will be missed by many.

It's been many years since I was last at Dorchester Paul Bray was there at first first then Marsh came along and we got the home to the thirties sign.

Justin times post threw me a bit. 
But forgot to say. Though I never new Marsh Carp fishing and Specimen angling has lost another character. My sympathys go out to his family and all that new him

Never met him Personally but always liked the look of Orchid and fancied a trip down there but never got round to it. Been following his Big C Journey on Facebook his strength and determination was incredible. Even just last week he was on about getting home and going for a drive in "Luigi" the convertable. R.I.P Marsh. Rest easy mate.

Yes started my stillwater carping on Dorchester Laggoon when Paul Bray was running it and it was "Any Method troutfishing " in the close season back then ...and it was a time of real characters and serious stroke pulling
Then marsh bought Orchid and turned it into the fishery it is today

Spoke to him a few times over the years and came across as a decent bloke.
When you look at his life he accomplished a great deal especially in the fishing world.
