Can anyone tell me where to buy some inline drop off leads with the groove in for a good price? Thanks

Haven't seen them for years I have A few of the old fox ones and some by Nash
You can make them drop off by cutting them open along one edge or just go over the top with the
Line

Aye, double ring swivels and over the top of a standard lead with the mainline for me. Seems to work.
Korda make a neat looking inline lead drop off kit, if thats any help.

Glad you asked that Q, though I have a good supply of Avids for the moment it's good to know they're still being made. I thought I was going to have to make my own again, flat inline lead and put a saw through one side.

are you asking for a inline lead that has a shallow groove in it for you to run externally, used with a tail rubber and so the lead comes off or you looking for a lead with the slot that's cut right through to the inner tube ?

Use inline drop off leads a lot, but can't see the benefit of that groove, as opposed to just running the leader around the lead ? Is there a genuine benefit ?

Running around the lead they drop the lead too easily IME. Now you could argue that's the point but not when your losing them right left and centre, great for the tackle shop though. You can make them hold better with a oversized swivel though. The grooved vaiety don't always land leader side up and if you have a leader ban that can make a huge difference to the nylon or braid on gravel/hard bottoms.

70% of the time I use inline leads and make my own they don't have the deep groove so I run the leader on the outside.
I use a normal size 8 swivel but for the tail end where the rubber goes on I use bamboo skewers cut down, they are a tight fit in the lead and also tight for the tail rubber and I've never had one come off easily when reeling in and it's always dropped when I get a take.

Never found mine drop too easily as long as the swivel is pushed snug into the lead and you tension the small length of leader to the tail rubber it's all good. Can see it may help if using nylon and no leader on a gravel bottom though 👍
