I must admit i find it uncomfortable fishing in the heat such as it is now and i don't enjoy it.
When i did an over nighter the other week the bivvy felt like a sauna during the day.
Does anyone take a small electric fan with them?
I've just rigged up a power pack using a 30ah battery and an inverter with a usb and 3 pin socket.
Ok the battery is a few kilos extra weight to carry but costs way less than a ridgemonkey etc.
And the 9" fan runs sweet!

I use a shelter with two large vents in back and it makes a huge difference when you have air flow through the bivvy.

Before I've used a weighing tripod over the head end of the bed chair and then hung a mozzy mesh net from the hook and over the bed to stop the mozzies biting me,it worked a treat and very nice sleeping in the open.
I did take a brolly incase it rained but was no need for it 👍

The best bit about fishing in the summer is not having to bother with a shelter and sleeping under the stars.
Fish naked and take a swim if too hot.

Whack a hat and some lotion on bud. Tbh I rarely fish static in this kind of heat anyway, almost a complete waste of time imo.

With a brolly, if it's hot, sunny with no shade just put the brolly up.

Yeah i understand that.
Just wondering how Aidey got through the day by not putting the Brolly up until the evening.
I'd be like a BBQ'd shrimp covered in sweat without the shade of a tree (which isn't always available)!

A hat and sun tan lotion on the 1% of occasions I actually use it (wrong I know). In this weather, it's an absolute waste of time sitting there like a lemon behind 3 rods. Get the floater rod out and walk the pond. Much more fun.
If all else fails, trees provide cover (as you mentioned) and personally I wouldn't fish a puddle without any trees, so it isn't an issue.
