Being as you usemsticks everywhere now with stage stands and stuff what's everyone's preference and why
Getting back in to it been looking at the singles but complete set without a bag is 260 and I can get a black alli world wide pod for 199

I'm torn as to what to get

All personal choice really.....

I have always used a pod and for me it covers 95% of places I fish perfectly. Especially ones where the bank sticks can be taken off and used as normal sticks too.

For me this is best of both worlds.

There will always be other reasonable views so this is just personal choice

I use both. For nearly all my fishing I use sticks and stagebites. But I do carry a pod with me for the odd occasion where I think it's needed. Modern pods don't weigh anything so I have mine tucked into the back of my rucksack.

I'd say I normally use my gear like this:
Option 1 - probably 70% of the time I use a buzzer bar on a single stick.
Option 2 - stagebites. 10% if I'm on platforms or screw then to a sleeper at the front.
Option 3 - goal post. 10% if the ground is very soft
Option 4 - pod. Normally if I'm snag fishing cos I like to peg the pod down.

I carry x4 11inch sticks and x4 7inch sticks which I use for the pod. I've yet to find a situation where a combination of some of these doesn't get me out of trouble

If ground is too hard for sticks I use a cheap lightweight pod (£60),if they will go in I use cheap light ally banks sticks. An individual set up for each rod. Generally they last years.

Agree with this, pod legs can be removed for use as single sticks.

In a perfect world I would have a pod I can use as a goalpost set up on banksticks or as a pod, or even single sticks.

The only reason I use a pod most of the time is simply the Solar P1 pod buzzer bars can't be used as standard on their own, they slot into the pod.

If the ground is soft enough use banksticks and buzzer bars or single sticks. If the ground is rock hard or on stages use a pod.

Pod for above, bit fiddly these things but solid when set up
Mine are matrix very heavy but bomb proof , jag do similar

This seems to cover all situations including single sticks

Simple realy mps fantail fish as a pod or as bank sticks you can have it in carbon or titanium british made by a member on here built to last not mass production eithet

I think if you buy a pod that can be used as singles normally but then with the option to use as a pod for use on a landing stage or hard ground you are covered for all eventualities. I keep my pod base in the car and use singles as only fish a 2 rod set up now but a couple of times have decided on a swim with a jetty/wooden landing area so it's just a case of heading back to the car.

I always worry that I would find the perfect swim and have no way to get the rods out.

That's the route I'm going down. Use singles the vast majority of times but 3 swims on my syndicate have wooden platforms so use stage stands at the moment but really like the look and thought of the fantail as it will cover virtually every scenario I face

Great used a fox quattro pod for years no complaints then seen the fantail and bought one never looked back i love the fact i can fish a direct line with the rod dont use banksticks pet hate ground always to soft or to hard or concrete or wood save weight on carrying a 5lb mallet its simplicity mines titanium nice and lite but he now does a carbon version which will be even lighter doesnt move in wind eithet
