Totally agree Thursday is new Friday, on a water with a 48hr rule probably better off doing Saturday rather than rush to get there Friday!

I normally work the weekends and get Monday and Tuesday off. Normally find I get the lake to myself.
It has been years since I had to rush to the lake on a Friday, even back in the 1990's it was a 'mare.

I'm thinking Wednesday is becoming the new Friday
I used to work shifts. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday used to be good for me
Edit - just been for a ride to my water to put some bait in. Car parks busy and 5 have just come on

I went down my local club lake after work this afternoon every swim was taken lol. I've got half day booked off work Friday but I still don't think I have much chance of getting on. I have a couple of back up options but if there full I'm pretty stuffed for this weekend.

The good news is, I've heard we maybe getting another 3 week furlough soon. That's me fishing Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
In fact I might do Wednesdays onwards, tie up a key area, because I can

Might be a good idea to see if you can find a lake that takes bookings rather than turn up and pay at the moment.
I know you are supposed to stay local, but Suffolk Water Park are expecting to shut again for spawning, Melton is busy, and I was looking at Aldeby Hall near Beccles, but speaking to the bailiff he has been at his limit on the lakes.
I had to book two nights in Essex, around 30miles from home, actually less distance than going up to North Suffolk/South Norfolk.

Reasons why I have a syndicate water as well as my club water. My fishing when at work tends to be Friday night or Saturday morning for 24 hours. Club water gets very busy from Thursday onwards. Tend to use it in school holidays and get on early week. Syndicate water - even if every member turned up Friday afternoon (which is never going to happen - busiest I have ever seen it is 7 on out of 40) we would all fit on so I can drive down with knowledge I am not going to have to turn around again.

Looks like i got lucky my first choice lake is shut as they are spawning but my back up lake was empty and ive found the fish in my favourite swim too which is bonus the only downside is we are only allowed to stay for 24 hours.
