Just out of interest really- do people find that the full timers/banktramps on the lakes they fish actually go home at weekends any more or do they stay on ? When I started carping they used to all disappear on the Friday but in my recent experience it seems they don't seem to do that anymore, does anyone else find this?
Maybe they don't have a home to go too.

Maybe they've paid the same price for a ticket as everyone else & are as entitled to fish as long as they like? Assuming there's nothing in the rules preventing it?

Possibly- a fair point, but you would have thought that common decency towards people who they know can only fish at weekends would nudge the moral compass enough that they pull off- like they used to. We don't decide a moral code through a club rule book surely. No? That's a bit off topic anyway, just wondering if the sentiment had changed a lot from the time that they always used to.

I have no problem with full timers. It's their choice. I'm a little jealous of their fishing time but bear in mind they'll be jealous of the house/wife/kids one day. Or will they lol.

I agree about thinking about wife, kids Etc if they haven't already got some.
I imagine some of them maybe in the bivvy at night thinking what am I doing.
They are not exactly the healthiest of people.
Back in the early 90s I used to fish Hawley Lake near Farnborough and there were a few full timers on there, nice bunch of blokes all either retired or divorced and all in need of a bath and a good night's sleep.
If someone wants to be full time I say good luck to them but it's not a lifestyle I would ever want.
If they take up a swim they pay the same as everyone else and if there's too many then fish some other water.

The fish other water point isn't a valid one- most of the top waters have a few full timers on now don't they, as most club rules allow it by only stipulating how long you can stay in one particular swim. From experience It's hard to get on fish if 2 or 3 full timers are on a water.

I do a weekday night after/before work and maybe one weekend a month. That keeps me out enough but I still have a buzz about getting out. Can't say I'm envious of full time anglers, if they want to sacrifice income/friends/family in the name of catching fish then fair play to them. I think I'd get pretty bored sitting on one lake for days on end personally.
We all had the option to take that lifestyle, no point getting bent out of shape that other people did.

The thing is there's no Code people pay there money and if the rules do not state a time limit then they are doing nothing wrong.
Its a shame really as I feel people should be able to have more options where they fish, just some people don't think like that.

Over the years I've seen a lot of goings on but one thing that really pisses me off, and this is where a good bailiff comes into it for me and fishery rules, is how they can leave people to rota on a 2 weekly basis so all the hot swims are taken up for the year
Is that why you pay your money?
You can do whatever you like but there has to be a bit of fair play for me and that's where good fishery management steps in. 3 days on and then you off for 24 hours or on another water for example, It just gets completely ****ing stupid for me
