google Terry Edmunds he has written some articles
but in nutshell he reckons any bigpit reels will do fine, the rod and line make the most difference after the ability of the caster of course.

read post 2 and look at Terry edmunds
he can cast as well with daiwa windcasts as top end shimmies
we all get caught in bling
any big pit reel spool size for size is the same for line capacity etc

There are videos on you tube,shimano did one about how line lay can improve distances.Daiwa say 45mm spool gives better distances due to the shape of the spool.I don't think anyone has took a range of different reels out and done a side by side comparison and filmed it though
