My son and my daughter in law both caught Covid last week. My daughter in law first, then my son a couple of days later.
As serving paramedics, both were eligible for their booster vaccine. My son had his two weeks ago... My daughter in law was due to have hers the day after she tested positive. So obviously she could not have hers. Both are very fit and healthy young adults with zero underlying issues.
My daughter in law, although double jabbed, had not had her booster. They both clearly caught Omicron which is so prevalent in the UK at the moment. Both had gone the entire two years of the pandemic, without catching the virus up until last week.
My daughter in law who had not had the booster really struggled. She completely lost her voice for three days, had great trouble breathing at times, it really wiped her out for the whole of last week. She could not feel her arms at one point. Then her arms hurt so much she could not lay down and sleep for three nights. They were very close to going to A&E with her. She tested positive for eight days. She has been negative for four days now... But still feels like death warmed up. It really hit her hard.

Probably most of us have seen that clip where the un-vaccinated ICU doctor challenges Javid on the vaccination as in his own words the science didn't back up getting vaccinated...

On a more sobering and serious note, I see that our overlords (the Govt.) have been understating Covid death stats but around 15% and that the ONS says we've passed 176,000 in this country. Devastating.

We have just lost a close family friend,he has had cancer for around 18months.He had to go into hospital just before Christmas even though they knew there was nothing they could do for him.They sent him home last week,he was then discovered to have covid from hospital.He has just died two days ago,cause of death is being put as covid,how is that right.

I imagine there is no shortage of people wishing they hadn't had the jab from various documented side affects and death!
The amount of people that caught Covid after there booster is crazy.......or was it the booster itself......

Glad they're both ok Mark.
When me and my missus caught it (from my son who got it at primary school) she was a mess, double jabbed, slim and 5 years younger than me. I was fine except snot, aching shoulders and the odd cough when roasting parsnips To be fair I reckon I've had every variant at least once and have the body of a god

I worked right through, never had a day off sick (since the late '90s) My missus works in a care home, she had a month on furlough, I have 3 kids, all at different schools / colleges ( they are 9, 14, 17). I have done in the region of 20 - 30 flights since Jan-20 (mainly dublin / belfast) and by some miracle, nobody in my family has had covid, or even had to isolate once throughout the entire episode.
Having said this, we have had colds and infections, but whenever we have done tests, they have been negative.
We have all taken the vaccines when advised.
In 2020 I ran just over 1100 miles, which I think is a major factor in helping fight off things like colds.

Sorry to hear this mate and so sad to hear of many other similar stories too.
Regards cause of death going down as covid it is nothing more, nothing less just a scaremongering tactic to frighten people in complying with having their vaccinations.
Be involved in road traffic accident which turns out to be fatal, upon arrival to hospital you'll be tested for covid and then if positive you'll be classed as a covid death.
Stinks to high heaven and those responsible for making this legal should be thrown in jail.
Edit - For all the monies ploughed and raised to fight cancer those milking it won't half be pleased that lots and lots of cancer related deaths haven't being registered as such.
In short, scandalous.

Though can others stop talking rubbish about scaremongering you make your own choice.
Some of us have lived with the big c for more than 15 years (with it remaining at a low staging but never quite gone, follow up treatment etc) with its up n downs and sometimes a sense of despair but we just keep going 👍🏼

Doesn't surprise me how many people caught Covid after the booster.
My wife and I needed to travel near a walk in site and we made the mistake of going in for our booster. Queued outside for what seemed ages and when we finally got to the tent there were hundreds more queueing up and down inside. Bit late to turn back by then but in the end we were packed inside for almost 2 hours. Although everyone was wearing a mask I'm still amazed we didn't catch something.
Seems to me that less care is taken with these sites now.
