Yes, assuming you are going to weigh the spool, minus the weight of the empty spool...and then you'll be able to divide the weight of mono by 3 (or 4) to know when to stop winding it onto the spool.
At £5 a spool I shouldn't care...but I do care about line waste.
Imagine filling 2 spools and not quite having enough for a third! The stuff of nightmares...

Just when I thought that the photo might actually be useful!

It may have been from a can, I can't remember....
EDIT: Thinking about it, probably not from a can or I would still have the can, I am a hoarder and wouldn't have thrown it away!
