Never watched or listened to a podcast in my life, but seeing as there's a 4 page thread about this one, I thought I'd see what it is that has so many people crying.
I'm just over an hour in, and unless something super dramatic occurs in the next 90 minutes, I really can't see what people are so offended by.
He's a guy that's lived his life in a way different to most and has acknowledged that, and that he's been lucky to do so. Whether you like it or not, he's someone that has actually given back to the sport and as someone who's been doing it for 40yrs, he's allowed to cast a few aspersions... Christ, enough people do it about him, and arguably completely unfounded.
People are entitled to an opinion. They're also entitled to live their life how they want to. I can't see that he's hurt too many people along the way, and ultimately he's not said the way he lives his life is the way everyone should... he's simply said he's lived his life in a way that suits him. Whether we do it to the same extremes is one thing, but maybe we should all focus on living our own lives for us and no one else.
As far as I can tell, he's honest, open and unfortunately for some it would seem, right about a lot of stuff. He's also largely very happy, which again, some people don't like to see.
Not sure any of it - pro or anti Nick - is worth getting upset over though.
And props to Korda. They've done it again! How many more views have they got out of people spitting feathers on a forum, I wonder. Free marketing. Superb business nouse!

beyond pathetic some of these critical ****s...................... but its an English thing lets just concentrate on any bad bits forget the good we just love knocking people sad world we live in these days

Just finished watching the NH podcast, I thought it was very entertaining, a man who does exactly what he wants, when he wants , if he wants.
I take my hat off to him, I manage to do most things I want to, but it normally comes after a bit of begging and sometimes bribery ( too the mrs!!)
The haters are just envious of someone doing what they never could.
Pete Regan part2 would be a must watch 👍🏻

There's a few on this thread who are guilty of exactly what they accuse others of.
I've had a count up (yeah, I know..) and there are about 30 posts thinking he's great, about 20 fall into the 'Meh' category .. take it or leave it, while only about 5 posts are very critical ... yet folk are banging on about 'haters', 'snowflakes' and 'the PC brigade' slagging him off in the thread. They really aren't.
Calm down ladies, the vast majority (me included) either think he's alright, or a Top Bloke.
I'm sure he'll be very happy with the attention he's getting on here .. but bitterly disappointed when, despite the podcast, he still doesn't get recognised every time he goes into his local Tesco.

Very entertaining and I feel as though he was quite different than he was in the Thames Video's (I appreciate that's edited and this is a different environment).
Very open and honest guy with a no BS approach, enjoyed and agreed to 99% of what he said but the self loving almost forced me to turn it off at one point.
Good podcast but I preferred Tom Stokes', Oz's and Micky Grays a lot more.

Im not quite sure but his carp catching confidence might be misplaced, having been known only by the capture of Shoulders from Horton and a Thames mirror, for the eighth time, when it died soon after. Set against his contemporaries, a poor return.

Dont think he's ever really chaced the known biggies. I think if he had with the amount of time he does he would of held his own.

And that's the thing, people miss sight of the pure enjoyment of just angling. One of the most esteemed anglers this country has in my eyes is Chris Yates. Although Chris was once a record holder, he doesn't have a list as long as your arm of all the biggest fish this country has, he just angles for the sheer pleasure of it all.
Wouldn't be a bad thing if people took note of these types of anglers. Like Nick says, well done you for catching something that ate its own poop.
