Watched a guy with a bait boat put his bait in a far margin swim on g lake at waveney valley, had to swerve the boat around probably 20yards of very thick lily pads.Honestly not sure if it was jim but he certainly was in the area, if it wasn't Jim it was one of his Norfolk sheep .

Probably so, I'm in the 90%. Respect to the man, caught a very, very lot of special fish, never met him, never will, don't give a toss really but no matter what people say he is one of the most successful carp anglers in country over the last few decades, like him, loathe him or 90% him

I don't know Jim Shelly or want to know him..and I'll probably never fish the same waters as him....but in regards to tackle companies sponsoring him, he's got it made....
I start bait company tomorrow..clobersauraus baits get Jim Shelly on the payroll and over night everyone will know about clobersauraus baits.... all his followers will get my bait company known on social media....and all his haters will come on forums etc....shout about Jim Shelly jumping ship again to clobersauraus baits.....is that worth the free bait and wages i pay him....I don't know but it must be....
It reminds me of a film i watched years ago about Howard Stern the radio presenter...very controversial radio shows in America and a statement was made...the people who like him listen for 30 mins and the main reason they listen is to see what's he's gonna say next......the people who hated him listened for 2 hrs and again the main reason they listen is to see what's he's gonna say next....
I bet its similar with Jim Shelly....i bet he gets more publicity from people that think he's a cock than he does from people who think he's an all round good egg.....

thats pretty spot on from what I heard at the time from a few of the anglers on there at then time, fair play to him tbh,
quite funny really, been out the carp fishing circuit for 10yrs, people were bashing Jim back then and he's still going and doing this thing, fair play
