Fair play, but I think its easier to deal with a few p**s heads than the estimated 1.3 million that came home.
Like I said there is no manual for this and mistakes will be made, history will show what worked and what didn't. I'm in favour of imposing a quarantine at our airheads / ports, I can see it being implemented when they introduce the NHS track and trace app.

Tbh I don't think any country has been perfect and without a vaccine we could see many more rounds perhaps even a tact terrorists will adopt the regime of infecting themselves and then try to infect as many as they can, wreaking more havoc so it worries me deeply.
Trouble with the U.K. we've always punched above our weight yes we were great but that was a long time ago (businesses sold out too many vested self interests etc)
So many of our European colleagues who've we've often put down have done so much better than us the stats show that - and we have Brexit completion on the horizon, it draws parallel to our performance in the annual Eurovision Song Contest
We live in interesting times.....

I have a simple answer, and it probably involves getting some of the smelt, herring and mackeral out the freezer for a few trips along the estuary seeing if the bass are about yet.

My club are re-opening at 08:45 on Saturday (first mistake), they are doing a draw for swims (second mistake) limiting numbers to 30 anglers on the complex (third mistake), yet anyone can turn up and draw for swims as long as they text the bailiff first (fourth mistake), with the unsuccessful ones made to go home, or some will do something stupid like cramming themselves onto an already busy day ticket water elsewhere.
This will be like the bog roll situation. queues outside the gate an hour before, 50 odd anglers crammed into the car park, all fighting over swims which would be empty 90% of the time.
Not going to touch the place with a barge pole until this has blown over.

Hey mate.
Why do you see them as mistakes? All seems perfectly reasonable to me. If you have to contact the bailiff first you can ask how many are down to come for the draw so they can limit at 30 without extra anglers turning up....

That was exactly my plan. Been working non stop for several weeks now, both charitable and in my own interests. River's aren't open and no way do I fancy any of the lake options with the tickets I hold. So thought I'd pack up the shore fishing gear stick a bivvy in the van and do a few nights from a few secluded marks I know. Clear as mud if I can without getting any hassle

I think having a single opening time will see a bottleneck of anglers, all crammed into the car park at once drawing for swims. Telling people there are only 30 spaces yet allowing others to turn up for the draw will mean people needlessly being there. Much better to just do ring up and the bailiff can give you a time slot to turn up. Those doing days, those doing evenings, those doing nights. once the 30 slots are gone, that's it. As for swims, everyone stays in there swim unless they want to move, whereby the onsite bailiff gives you options over the phone.
