Two tackle shops over 20+ years: Viscount Tackle in Ipswich from 1995-2000 when I was sorting out my life after splitting with my first Mrs and saving up to do a degree at college as a mature student and then Gladwells at Copdock Mill from 2016 to 2018 along with my catering agency work.
I beg to differ, the Delkims are very good, from their own original ST's to the current TXI d's, and with good customer service, and mine haven't let in water, in pouring rain, nor when submerged.
As for Fox, your choice, but one heck of a lot of faulty alarms returned by customers, I've had sets that didn't even make it out of the shop door because they didn't work from brand new. It became a point to have the customer open the plastic packing to test them there were that many.
I hope you never have need of Fox customer service for alarms.

I only said Delkims let in water. Out of all of the well known alarms over the last 25 years, they are well known for it. They always have been. Fox are not. Neville's are not. ATTS are not. Nash are not. Wolf are not. Only Delkim are well known for it. I've even seen people with little umbrellas clipped on. Only on Delkims.😂 I'd honestly never heard of Fox alarms being affected and my close mates own two of the largest tackle shops in the land. They are resin encapsulated, which is what makes them nigh on unserviceable I'd imagine. It's quite simple if you have half a clue and really think about it. I made the joke comment about the shop because you always use these comments to justify things. All the time. Like it means anything at all. Like Rod Hutchinson kit these days is relevant. But rest assured if they made alarms, I have no doubt you'd be using them and arguing they are the best. Which is kind of my case in point. Go have a look at what all the best anglers use out of choice Nick. It's never Delkims. They are not reliable enough. If they were, I'd have zero problem using them either as I already said.

The reeds deteriorate. Just breeze over that. They let in water. It's a well known fact. They even sell different snag backs that are meant to make them more waterproof. Loads of people love them. Korda promote them. It's like bait. It's so tribal. To the point it makes no sense. People will just argue.

Finally someone speaks up. Well said Mark. Nick is by far the most hostile regular poster on the forum, yet somehow gets off scott free.
All that genuinely interesting knowledge that has been banned from the forum over the last few years and we get stuck with the same Tim Paisley or Nazeing Meads stories on repeat and a hissy fit every time somebody disagrees with him.
