I'm guessing you didn't really play it for 40 mins, and was just making a point.
If I'm wrong, you need to consider your technique, and \ or packing up fishing.

What is on the market actually in 10ft that is a true player rod ?
My son want to go with me, and i want to buy a set of 10ft rods that he can use and enjoy a little carp on.
I dont need to cast far (max 60meters) .
I have had a look in 2 shop and all are beetween 3 and 3.5lbs and seems too stiff for my liking.
I currently fish with 12ft 3lbs torrix since 12years and want a softer rod, a bit like my old century ng 12ft 2.75lbs.
I dont have a big budget for them so 100 or 120 per rod would be the max

I've got 2.75 9 foot dwarfs. Bought for my son for when he was about 10 or 11.
We went together for an overnight on Wed this week.
One of his rods went off, but immediatly towards bushes
So I dealt with that while he got his other rod in. As its a very
Tight overgrown swim.
Anyway to stop that fish with prejudice I was side pulling that little rod and it was bent almost double. Pretty sure it was snagged up. So let it go slack felt some movement and knocks
And gradually applied more pressure again with a full curve on
Well he netted it. And it weighed 16lb... LOL
Fair old scrap.
3 hours later I had a 29lb common on my Fresspirit XS and was glad not to be on the Dwarfs. As my swim wasn't much easier to play with.
I find the dwarfs a bit creaky etc. But can't deny they can make smaller carp feel like a drama.

Due to brexit, it will be hard for me to have a go at the ballista.
I have found a dwarf cork in 10ft 3,25lbs in the shop here, but they dont have the 2,75lbs in stock.
I had a play with The 3,25 and it is too stiff for what i want.
to have a good idea, If someone have used the old fox stalker 12ft 2,25lbs, i want a rod like this just a bit more powerfull, between this one and an old NG 2,75lbs would be perfect !

Baby ballistas 2.5 are the best players rods you will ever use. Stupidly sold my originals as fancied a change. Got century fbs, then free spirit es, then hi-a 3lb but nothing felt right. Now have had a new set of baby ballista and am happy again. You will not find a nicer players rod out there.
