Yes interesting. The only trouble with the Kodiaq is that only the more basic versions come with 5 seats and its not an option on the others to have anything but 7.

Have you looked at the merc e class estate ? Will swallow a wide bed chair with plenty of room for all your other gear 👍

Frenzy ... is that the MS-RT you got ?
I´m planning on getting a Ford Transit Connect L2, latest model(2021/22), and wonder if anyone has one ???

Got told off by my accountant as the Mustang wasn't tax efficient, we've gone for the new VW ID4, we don't do a huge amount of mileage daily so it makes sense .
Got the 7 seat mum bus for fishing or days out.

Still a huge boot, I had the 7 seater and could fit all my stuff in eaasily

Being old I want comfort and being tight I want good economy, bmw fan boy both cars and bike so my fishing wagon is a 320d estate, lovely drive and easily takes all I need.

I have been looking at buying a Connect but price increases for vans plus the added VAT for the majority available meant that I was having to fork out more than what I could buy a well spec'd estate for.
After reading this thread I've now decided to go down the estate route because it will be my daily driver (lots of motorway miles) and also having owned BMW previously I've been looking at the 320 and 520.
Can you fit 12ft rods in easily and not poking up through the drivers area Goose? Was thinking if I were to take a fishing partner would they have rod holdalls etc between the driver and passenger?

330d msport Touring has been my wagon of choice for some time (3x different variants) - not very good on potholed tracks but at least I get to the lake quicker than most others . . .
Can easily fit all my gear in the boot with the rear seats down - my 12ft 3x rod sleeve with a 13ft utility does need to be positioned centrally between the two front seats but it doesn't extend any further than my peripheral vision so is no probs . . depending on how much gear / how you pack the car you could put your rods in at an angle to negate this . .

I also have a 320d estate and it fits everything easily; only issue I have is that it is fairly low and not great at getting through very potted tracks. I'm in the market to replace with something higher off the ground.

Doing a lot more river fishing these days so I've come to the same conclusion - that and poorly maintained syndicate tracks . . also want a decent daily driver so looking at X5 40ds at the moment - just waiting for the new car market to pick up so that used prices return to sane levels . .

Thanks for the feedback, thought I'd get some strange looks rocking up to the dealership with my holdall and stuffing it through the back just to check, although i may still do this anyway

Out of interest does anyone use an Octavia Scout? I've always had my eye on getting one, hoping it will be the best of both worlds between estate and 4x4. Wondered if anyone uses one and has any feedback.

Only ever take my kit so can go in diagonally or front passenger seat moved fotward can get 13ft rods in.
Did try a top spec Honda crv 1.6d 4x4 160horse but weight transfer throwing it round corners put me off.
